Haven't been on twitter that much but noticed quite of few tweets about Arnott's name floating around connecting to the Leafs. Hopefully just crap rumours.

Yeah I mean he would center two PWF in Luc and Horton so he'd be protected. Idk interesting situation...I think they should see how the beginning of the season plays out and wait till the deadline now that I think about it.
- celata29

I really think the only players on that team that should NEVER be traded if they want a chance to land another cup are:

Chara (obviously)
Lucic
Seguin

Lucic is a player that every single team in the league would die to have. He's the type of player that even if magically an exact clone of him was suddenly made available even Boston would want get in line for him.

LM! you know damn well why that was!!

he only showed glove side opening when he had an angle on it.. the guys would "think" they had a hole to shoot at only to realize that to get it by quick you would have to shoot too far to the outside

quick gave them a hole and then closed the angle down routinely.. it was excellent netminding

- Dozzer

Holtby looked like he could be beat glove side too...look how that turned out

The Bruins did start to target it after game four, and it def was his weak point...lok for it to be exploited in regular season IMO

It all comes down to maturity.

Maybe NOW he was ready to commit seriously to training in order to play at the next level.

- Pecafan Fan

going from his quotes in the Sportsnet piece, seems like he's finally figured out that talent isn't enough. He thought he was good enough at 19, and talent wise he was, but he couldn't play in the league.

Eakins quote was the best - 22 yr old in an 18 yr old's body.

I think the biggest factor is how well Carlyle gets his system going and how much the team buys into it. If they're still skating around with even 25% of Wilson's style included then they're going to be lost out there like they were in the 2nd half last year.

Decent team...but they need a good number of things to click if they want to make the playoffs and actually have a chance to get past the 1st round.

- Juice

yeah i think thats a huge part of it, will the team be ready for carlyle's system or sort of half in it, half run and gun still...

time will tell!

i think we need grabovski's line to do their job as always, and phil's line to score score score...where we need improvement is the 2 way play for both 3rd and 4th lines (with a few goals chipped in).

we have had god awful 3rd/4th lines for years...YEARS!!!!

Rickard Wallin, Freddie Sjostrom

give me a (frank)in break im better than these guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's one more player I need to add to that list...Bergeron. Heart and soul of the team and Cam Neely has pretty much blatenly said the locker room leader.

I really don't believe Belak did his job. He was Colton Orr, but not as feared. He got torn apart by the true heavyweights at the time (Laraque, for example).

He really couldn't fight all that well for a fighter. Certainly not well enough to justify keeping him around as a massive liability everywhere else on the ice.

- Leeman4Gilmour

He lost a few fights as did all fighters, and if you dont think he could fight ask Brashear.

As bad as Sjostrom was, I still think he did a pretty good job just being a lunch pail defensive 4th liner.

Yeah lot of ifs surrounding the team...if they put them all together though look out. i'd love to meet the Leafs in the playoffs
- celata29

I dunno about you but I've never seen the leafs play Boston in the playoffs and I would absolutely love to see that...but it woud just give me more reasons to hate every last little thing about your team.

I like the part where he said he was destroyed by the legit heavyweights like Laraque...

um, Laraque destroyed everybody. Period. There was Laraque and then everybody else.

FYI - I'd make it less obvious that you're keatondixon. There's a bounty for your alt account.

EDIT - and there it is, he's hit by the time I finish the post.

They shouldn't.

Gardiner is the closest thing, but watch how fast that changes if he has a weak season this year.

I haven't either that's why I'd like to! Haha yeah I don't think you guys would have a chance, but maybe in a few years we can stoke a healthy rivalry. Definitely respect the leafs the most in our division, mostly because of the fans.
