I really don't see a Getzlaf trade happening but what the heck do I know. But he is absolutely the exact player the leafs need. Marleau is just an older, more expensive and passing his prime version kessel....except Kessel is a better passer.

there are certainly a few gems around isnt there!

i dont think they need any vet goalie to teach them anything, thats what goalie coaches and alumni are for.

what i think our goalies need is a better defensive system, and stronger 2 way play from the forwards.

ive seen reimer make some of the most amazing saves, i think hes got the skills, he just needs time and the coaching staff to grind those D men to keep shots to the outside.

Needing "something" doesn't mean you literally just trade for "something". The leafs need a playmaker...Marleau is not that, not one bit.

If they want to trade MacA and Kulemin and put him on Grabo's wing...ok, that works. But the "need' is for someone to be between Kessel and Lupul that passes and can score. And that's why everyone focuses on Getzlaf.

i dont fully blame wilson but he did not have the d-corps he needed to implement the systems he was trying.

while not his fault its his job as coach to adjust the game plan to suit the skill sets of his players

grant fuhr had a terrible goals against and save percentage, but was renown for making a big save. I'd love to see a 'big save' once in a while instead of the usual deflating beer league level goals which go in game after game.

coaches looked at his swing, the sped up his swing by starting early...he crushed more homers than anyone since.

why? because he was coached, and adjusted part of his game to get better.

kind of like how players (kadri) are training all summer with Gary Roberts, to get better, bigger, stronger, faster.

but dont worry, we know you dont understand the concepts so dont sweat over it.

I don't think Getzlaf will happen, I'm just saying that's why the rumors are out there cause he's the perfect fit.

But again, needing "someone" is the only reason Marleau fits, it's because Marleau is a "someone"...but so am I, my mommy tells me so every day.

Marleau is hands down the 2nd worst "someone" the leafs could trade for, right after Gomez.
