What's the chances Gagner Fistric or Oshi make it to free agency - southernhawk
Ganger and Oshie's teams won't let them walk. |

I think you over-project leddy. He will be a serviceable defenseman in the league IMO. A 3rd pairing now, probably 3/4 dman later. I watch leddy play a lot and he reminds me of rookie Eric Gustafsson on the flyers. Both are small, skilled skaters with good puck handling skills and both get manhandled in their own end (especially on the boards). I can see them both being more like ogie said.... Oduya.... rather than Lidstrom, or even to a more realistic high end comparison of a Timonen or Enstrom. - moylander
I agree he gets manhandled in his own end and that is the biggest shortcoming of his game. I am hopeful with maturity, strength and playing experience he improves.
Leddy to me has diagonal closing speed for sealing off the puck carrier that I have not seen in many players. I am hopeful he starts to use that to play physical and finish checks along the boards and then get the puck after separating the player.
Its his skating skill that has me so optimistic. Hockey is like football in that luck follows speed IMHO |

Sup EK how was class. - southernhawk
Intro to Visual Arts. It's a total blow off class I'm taking for the credit hours. The Prof is a hipster douche-bag. I spend three hours on Mondays and Wednesdays making his life a living hell.

I don't have the answer but it seems to me that if there is a $70M cap, teams better have revenue streams that bring them in $90M annually or they lose a bunch. How many teams have $90m coming in - probably only NYR, Toronto, Boston, Philly, Chicago, Montreal, Vancouver, Washington, Calgary and LA.
That dictates revenue sharing - and what big owners want to do that. I'd rather see the league back at 24 teams. See ya later Columbus, Anaheim, Phoenix, NYI, Nashville, Florida and even New Jersey and Carolina. - RickJ
I'm rather neutral on the number of teams as well...whatever the league can sustain I suppose.
That said...24 teams would be nice...concentrate the talent and the level of play would go up. |

you know....since Q won the first power struggle with Blowman I wonder if SB is handcuffing the roster intentionally to oust Q....

It's a possibility. It's a way of looking at it. Give Q enough rope and he'll hang himself. Q canned Haviland and kept Kitchen, the guy running the (frank)ing power play. Q adds Tampon, a former lackey who was dismissed from the Kings, and from what I've read, can't run a PP either.
I think the next losing streak Q has will get him hung. I say it happens by game #24. |

You gotta wonder that with the sudden uprise of hockeyyinsiderr and his new "DREAMTEAM" of insiders, that these "sources" are purposely giving different info to different people to create a diversion...its bad enough that there's been a holdup with transactions since the 4th. Not only are the fans growing impatient, but you'd think the GMs are too. They don't need these guys hounding their backs for some leaked information. |

Not disagreeing with any of that.... I still think you project him much higher than he most likely will top out. I agree with speed.... but will add speed AND size. The NHL, like the NFL, is getting bigger and faster. Its like I tell my employees 'slow and steady does not win the race.... fast and steady does'.... same thing with speed and size. That's why I think stalberg has a higher ceiling than we've seen.... he's got great speed and great size.... if he can only learn how to use it every shift. He's improved which gives me hope he will. |
