Detroit re-ups Kyle Quincey. 2 years, $3,775,000 cap hit.

Whatever, his career stats are solid for a bottom pairing guy. Not saying he's going o be missed (how could he be missed when Q refused to play him?) just think he got screwed. John Scott should never (not even once) have gotten a start ahead of him. Who will be Q's whipping boy this year?

I'd put my money on Frolik, Bickell and Bollig. Jimmy Hayes if he makes and sticks in the roster.

Kruger has similar size and numbers his rookie year as Plekanec and Krejci had in theirs. Since, Plekanec has put on some weight but Krejci is still a thin guy who plays a very good pivot.

I think Krueger's game COULD compare to these two and in their second years they made the jump from just under 30 points to the bigger numbers. Lets hope Krueger can improve along the same growth curve.

To be clear the defense is better I wasn't disagreeing there.
Oduya is a decent #5 on a good team...slotting him as #3 could be an issue although imo that will be Leddy.

But at forward and overall team play???

A lot of eggs being put in the Saad basket and the hope Shaw can translate his output last season over the entire course but....

There wasn't enough done to acquire a center who can win faceoffs, or a screen setter and those 2 points are beyond not finding a 2nd line center.

The Hawks last season couldn't hold onto the puck and when they clamped down on defense the offense was lacking.

Has enough been done to make a real difference???

Leddy at #3 I don't want to see him in the top 4

I hope he never gets the chance.

Kruger, Leddy, Emery, 2nd for Stastny and Giguere

That would be the best thing I could hope to get out of Kruger.

Who are the RFAs most likely to not work out a deal with their current team? Any?

Sometimes people get benched for numerous reasons. Whether its their play or their attitude or simply not following directions or being a proper professional. Unless of course you are a perennial all star.

Who knows why Lepisto got benched as much as he did. Point is he had a very short lived NHL career and never really got a ton of playing time wherever he was. Could anyone get benched on merit alone or is there always some sort of bias with Q?

I like Ben Smith. What he doesn't have in talent he makes up with heart and a willingness to win.

He didn't look like he was all there when he came back from that hit. I still wonder if he'll have long term effects from that? He also had surgery on his hip, so who knows how close he is to being ready?

- EKolb13

Oh no doubt. I wish everyone on the team had his heart. Unfortunately his skills just aren't there and he doesn't really bring anything to the team except effort which is more than can be said for others. It seems like chicago sports tend to get caught up with smaller scrappy guys who try really hard even if they aren't really that good. Other examples include Dane Sanzenbacher (I probably effed up that spelling), Sam Fuld, and Tony Campana. Would never hold anything against their effort or personalities, but sports are results driven.

Of course they could, but anyone who watches this team regularily can see that many of Q's personnel decisions are suspect. it's not just me. Until he proves otherwise, Q is a dolt in my book.
