I don't think the team has reverted to that era...yet. It seems like they're willing to chase and possibly pay free agents. The problem is the dysfunction in the front office and behind the bench that seems to be the turn off.
- EKolb13

In terms of spending money you're right they are willing to pay but unfortunately that doesn't seem to be enough. I hope Rocky sees how dysfunctional the front office is and does something about it. I really think they need a hockey guy running things similar to what the Cubs finally did in hiring Theo Epstein and putting that wind sock Crane Kenney on the pay no mind list.

Per TSN and Darren Dreger all signs point to Roberto Luongo accepting a trade to Chicago for Nick Leddy, Corey Crawford, Andrew Shaw, and a second round pick. Blackhawks will also recieve a conditional third round pick as compensation. Announcement could be held until the Blackhawks open their convention this weekend. Final details are being worked out, but it is believed that Luongo will be present at the convention.

Pat Quinn won 684 games in his coaching career. Never won a cup. Was fired alot!

So he's obviously a bum...

Billy Raey coached for 16 seasons and never won a cup
542 wins 385 loses 175 ties 3 cup final loses.

Another absolute bum...but he lasted 14 years before being fired...how did he keep his job all those years?

So one of you says Q was lucky he won a cup and actually sucks, and another says he sucks because with that many wins he should have more than 1 cup. So which is it?

Go watch wrestling if you want predictable outcomes...

I need a damn Snickers!!

- ArlingtonRob

these guys keep jobs because they are nice guys and a part of the buddy club. And lots of these gm's don't have a clue and some have big egos. And maybe they are unlucky, lol

Bowman giving up that much talent to get Luser? Who is Bowman competing against?

If that's the trade for Luongo, I think Bowman passes Howson for worst GM in the league. If McD has his fingerprints all over it, the (frank)ing guy needs to get fired before this thing goes down.

Somebody call Rocky and wake him up! His team is swirling the bowl.

Carcillo will. They are similar players. Don't need 2 smaller sized energy players on the team. Shaw is expendable IMO.

OK guys, everyone calm down. I call b.s. on this post to raise our collective blood pressure and get our reaction.

I just spent a bit of time looking -- Dreger hasn't Tweeted since 7/15. And there is nothing over on the TSN website. So unless bonecrusher has some telepathic abilities, I am saying this is utter b.s.

Could you imagine the uprising in Hawk Nation at the Convention -- the Hawks send back 2 of their best/brightest young players with low cap hits plus CC and take back Lu's monster contract.

C'mon, there is NO WAY little Stanley is THAT stupid!

Agreed.

For what it's worth, I would have kept Shaw and let Carcillo walk.
