I'm all for Barry Smith but I hope Stan attempts to give Q an improved roster come October... errr... December.

That'd be nice and akward though... Smith being stuck with 2 apparent duds as assistants for the year unless they let him bring in someone.

That's the problem with hiring your buddies as assistants, it can become an issue if the ring leader doesn't workout.

JJ , Al, Ogi, Rob, Southie, eli, errrrerybody !!q good after noon, so the Hawks, Q specifically , hired a Q disciple that also blows at putting a power play together, have still signed zero meaningful FAs , we're 16 days into free agency, Stan has made zero trades.... NM he got a 4th round pick for next year ..... And the Hawks NHL roster still stays the same as the sorry ass team we saw last year. A team with horrible special teams, weak goalies and NO balls at all..... No forecheck unless Shaw Carcillo Bickell and Frolik provide it, no new roster for Q. Wasnt an upgraded roster promised to Q and Us the fans ??? So angry right now.....

I agree. Rocky and Company better get off their arses and make sure this is a place #19 wants to be for the long haul. If they run him out of town, even if it's unintentional, the fans will be gone, and will likely stay gone for a long time.

I wouldn't bet a lot Smith, at this point in his career, wants to be a head coach or an assistant.

Sounds to me he has a nice title and a "consultant" like position...Those aren't easy to give up.

You can put me on the top of your list!At $20 dollars a year to participate here it is cheap entertainment!Could care less if I am liked here,care more that the Hawks do well for the long haul!A couple pieces away from being really good,but good none the less!How would you like to be Vancouver?Our "CORE" is alot younger.Still no time to lose as we do have some aging pieces but I prefer the half full glass house.
