I've finally figured out the domino waiting to fall with Bowman. McD doesn't want to get overshadowed by his former employer, the Cubs, so he's waiting for Dempster and/or Garza to be moved first before he can make a news splash. - 1goalLordStanley
I figure if anything is gonna pop it'll be soon...Convention next weekend.

Didn't Stan ask him to play center at prospects camp last week as an experiment? - BDT36
Enough with experimenting....find an NHL center, or put Sharp there and be done with it.
This club will not win with rookie wingers converting to center and playing on the 2nd line.

Yup this week Saad was playing center the last two days...gee imagine that - Stan can't make a trade for a center (interestingly enough JJ mentions trade talk w/ the Habs has dried up - read Plekanec) and suddenly Saad's at center. Bowman of course was the one who suggested Kane should be playing center last summer when he couldn't make a deal to save his rear end then either.
Don't worry though w/ Gauthier warming up in the pen...can't wait until Kane is pulled out of a game between periods to be traded...lol.
McCub's 'Brand' isn't looking too hot right now is it. That's gonna be some convention. Looking forward to seeing McCub and Stan booed mercilessly...
And apparently Winnik is the latest to tell Stan and Co. to take a hike. Gee Rocky is it time to clean house yet?

As long as its not Bolland for Luongo. I don't min getting Lou, but we're already short on centers and Bolly is one of my personal favorites. I'd like to see Bolland a Blackhawk for life. |

I'd pass on Kesler myself. He's sort of "iffy" with his shoulder problem. - EKolb13
He's exactly the player we need. If we are talking gambling on Luongo... Kesler is the guy I would gamble on in heartbeat. |

I was tring to find where Stan said it, and here it is: http://espn.go.com/blog/c...aad-star-at-prospect-camp
Talking about it being up to Q if Saad plays some center at training camp. Gee, I wonder how "up to Q" it really is. This article says it was Saad who asked to try center at prospects camp. Wonder if that is the truth, since it came from Bowman. |

Both sides have drawn the line in the sand. No one is budging. If the GMs are doing the same then there is no deal.
That is fine but don't think it will be a tense locker room. These guys are pros and like each other. Lu knows ,go and play hard, and someone will soon ask for him. - VANTEL
You cannot say the Canucks would be fine keeping Luongo. Or you can't believe that. Having a backup goalie rotting his cap number would defintely hurt your ability to address other needs. Having 2 very good goalies is rather useless or you would see more of it.
He would help us. But it is a huge risk with his contract. His own team doesn't want him. It's not like we won't have other options in the upcoming years to address the position. Again... the only way I see it is if we get an added bonus that really addresses our hole(s)... like a Kesler. But hey... I'm not Bowman. Maybe he is stupid enough to give you guys Leddy for Lu.
The Canucks will be good with or without dealing him. But no question it ties up a whole lot of money for a guy who most likely is on the bench. |

Having two goalies is useless? ST. LOUIS BLUES <==== Halak and elliot were champs during the season, halak broke in the playoffs and elliot sharted all over himself but hey they are both really really good |

Not at all....they messed withn him last year and I think it hurt his production.
He does not have the tools or mental make-up to play that role consistantly well. A center has to do so much more than be a high lite real set-up guy. |

Right. And do you think that was by design? Ummm... no Elliot has been nothing short of a very mediocre to bad goalie until this year. No comparison to Vancouver's situation. Any others?

Your facts and proposals are so far off .
First of all his teammates and fans like him. We just realize Schneider seems like he will be a better goalie in the long run.
If you are looking at getting Kesler then you will be sending back Seabrook not Leddy.
As far as contract go ,it was repeorted the other day that the Canucks made 70 mil profit last year so burying a 5 mil contract in the minors is not a big deal. That is the worse case scenario but don't kid yourself , if it meant not getting Doan because Lu's contract was hindering the deal, Lu would be buried in a heartbeat.
We know you think your team is superior but the fact is they are pretty close in talent. If we went in this following year with our current lineup we think we could finish top 5 . DO YOU? |

I'm one of the few Canucks fans who would entertain a Kesler trade and I would take Sharp in a heartbeat. Lu+Kesler for Sharp+Leddy+Crawford+1st - 1970vintage
I have very little use for Sharp, but that is still a gross overpayment by the Hawks. |

Slow down there yuppy... Or RE READ my post before you spout off. Did I say or not say you would be good with or without dealing him? And where exactly did I say my team was superior?
We have a moron for a GM. So anything can happen. My Kesler comment was purely what I would want. But for you to say your management will just bury Luongo in the minors without ever doing so is a stretch. To me... I hope he stays in Vancouver. Because I personally believe he will be with the team eating cap. Having a rival carry two very good high paide goalies is a good thing for me. Whether you want to believe it will have no financial impact on the players you can get is certainly your opinion.
I tell you one bet I will make with you. You will not receive a top 6 forward or a top 4 D in exchange for Luongo. |

The funny thing is ,if Luongo stayed it would make Canucks much stronger . It is mostly other teams fans that say he needs to be moved. Him and Schneider were the reason we made the playoffs to be truthful.
I think the Canucks are a player or two only from making a big run. Our prospects are very good ,so not everyone is in a hurry including Gillis to make a trade that does not make sense.
This is why salary dumps need not apply |

How not. Him and Hossa played some magical hockey there and you want a player like that coming down the middle with the puck on his blade. |

And you need a Selke winner on wing to make up for Kane's d-zone deficiencies. |
