Not only possible but likely. An across the board reduction in players salaries has happened before. That's the big prize that the League truly wants in my opinion. Reduction in the players share, along with a change in calculating HRR. - MJL
Great thank you for the clarification and info. |

It's still early yet, however the NHLPA said they'd be willing to go into the season without a CBA in order to keep a season while getting a deal completed. |

Yup it's the initial offer, somebody had to make it, it's how these things work. Give & take.
It's not an overnight process. |

I'm going to go ahead and say I believe they'll get something done. It'll be eleventh hour, possibly involve playing without a CBA for a short time, and it won't be perfect. But it'll get done. |

One thing that was very apparent today is that, whenever Cousins or Laughton were on the ice, somebody on the other team was pissed off at them. Clapperton showed his skills and also confirmed something I was told about him, that he's a feisty little bastard, as well.
Tie McGinn looked like a much different player today than he looked at last year's prospect camp. He got into a spirited fight with one of the unsigned guys-OB18 posted a pic of the scrap-and he moves well for a big man.
Shane Harper also was impressive. |

What is Howard Eskin reporting? - Daman
Considering that he doesn't exclusively cover the NHL, rather Philadelphia sports, he's reporting the latest on Cole Hamels and PSU.
I tried using little words so you'd understand |

Thanks for using little words. I am struggling with "exclusively" though.
I believe Eskin is on tv tonight. Maybe he will surprise us with some NHL talk!

Don't know, not watching him. I only do when they tease Flyers news. Otherwise, I don't care what he has to say. |

I don't give a rat's ass about the Sixers or Eagles, and the Phillies will probably hold onto Hamels until a bidding war erupts to max out the return, which means nothing is likely imminent.
As for Penn State...I care less about them than I do the Eagles. |

Well, since many posters have praised Eskin, I am giving him a chance. As a premier sports journalist, I feel obligated to watch.
Your tone sounds a little negative - we should all be positive. It is going to be a great week! |

Feel free to watch. If you care about the other teams in town, enjoy what he has to say. Regardless of how big a jackass he is, he is a well connected guy in Philadelphia.
Obviously, you're one of those lucky people that only see in shades of black and white. That's kind of a pathetic way to see the world, but whatever floats your boat. |

To be honest, I don't really care what you develop. The last few big reports that Eskin has made on the Flyers have either had information that came to pass or was confirmed by other reporters or the subject of the report themselves. If you want to ignore that because the guy's a shock jock who doesn't understand the sport, that's your call.
The reporter being a conduit and repeating what a source says needs no knowledge of the sport, he's simply reporting what he was told. For analysis of that information, I'll turn to somebody like Bill Meltzer. Discounting valid information because you dislike the reporter's style or politics, is shortsighted. Being unable or unwilling to shift through that and criticizing others who can is just stupid.
