Likely 2 maybe 3 but it all depends on his development, it could be sooner.

The NHL sent out a perfect proposal for their side, and the NHLPA will send out a perfect proposal for their side at first. It's like Pawn Stars...both sides will eventually meet in the middle.

You can't take these first proposals at face value.

Link with a draft profile on Scott Laughton, no doubt this guy will be a fan favorite when he makes the big club.

Voracek, MAB, and a 2nd rounder. No more then that.

Won't be an issue because the NHL knows it can't afford another lockout that cost an entire season.

I agree. That is a ridiculous overpayment. Ryan isn't close to being that good of a player to command that return.

Just curious as to where you would rate Ryan?

Elite, Excellent, Very good, Good, etc...

Out of those choices, I guess very good. As a recent frame of reference. I don't think that Ryan is as good of an all around player as Jeff Carter is.

Laughton creamed and knocked Gostisbehere out of the game with a big hit today
- nastyflyergirl

Great. Just when there's promise of a defenseman developing through our system, our #1 pick knocks him into into next week.

There have been 30 goal scorers on the Flyers that I would've carried to the airport to get rid of.

Point being it's hard to gauge without watching them play game in and game out.

Thats my problem with Ryan. Has anyone watched him on a nightly basis every single game? I don't know how good he could be.

From the games that I have watched Anaheim he looks like a very good player and can still get better, IMO.

If that's all it took they shouldn't even hesitate. But since it's not I sit tight.

Possibly. But Carter is a solid 2 way player, and an underrated defender, who can also play on the PK. Ryan hasn't showed those elements to his game.

I agree. I doubt that Anaheim would take that deal. But that is all that I would be prepared to give up.

Ryan played 58 PK minutes this season and Carter played 40 (in just 55 games). I don't think Ryan is getting any credit for his ability to play on special teams. Defensively I have not watched a lot of him every single night so I'm not sure if he cant become a better two way player.

Ryan has never been one of the top PK forwards on a team. Carter has. Carter has also been used to check against top lines in his career. Any player can become a better two way player.

By the way I know we talked about goalies being tired (before the playoffs) and resting but Quick started 69 games last year and still was a stud.
