So in summary it sounds like you guys won't give up a lot to get a proven vet like Lu and you guys won't give up a lot to get a highly touted NHL-ready prospect in Bernier either. Seems to me Stan is not the only one unwilling to 'overpay' to get what they want/need - moylander
Not me!
I think bernier is worth the risk. How many games has Schneider won? Vanc is handing him the keys.
Every goalie has to start at ground zero, so I don't really get that argument. In his limited appearances, bernier seems to be better than just good. At some point he has to be given the chance to prove it. I'm good with taking that chance and won't complain if he craps the bed and turns into the next mason.
Lu has proven it but has an albatross contract, that's his downside.
Is it possible to get 20 perfect players and 20 perfect contracts? Don't think so. But that's Stan's problem to figure out and doing nothing cause your sphincter is tighter than......is not an option |

That one stung me right in the heart. But for real I never once trolled here. I offered up a pretty fair trade, he responded with Kane for benn, I said I'd rather keep benn. I never said benn was better or said any of the players on Chicago sucked or balked at the idea of Kane being worth more than a top 10 goalie. I'm actually curious as to what he would think is a fair trade for Kari. Plus most of the stars fans use a different site just dedicated to them. I'm one of the few idiots that come here and fill my brain with garbage. |

For the record, I never said you trolled. I gave the response I did because the conversation was going nowhere. |

Sure. At least I'm insisting that elite talent comes in return. - EKolb13
I really wish we knew what guys like Kane and Sharp would bring back. Make things a lot easier. If we traded for Benn that would be all we would probably get. In fact maybe we would add. For us it might make us a little better if even that. What I still would like is the philly type trade. Would u trade Kane for Schenn and Simmonds? I would. Just trying to guage people's opinions here |

Hjalmarsson or Leddy, Kruger or Pirri, Crawford, 2nd round pick for Lehtonen and Fistric. |

So what's wrong with trading Kane for Benn? Benn is a forward with size who can score and play all three forward positions. He's going to provide more grit up front, more than Kane would. What's so wrong with a straight up one for one deal, especially if it helps improve the team in an area they may be weak in?
What makes you think Philadelphia is going to flip Simmonds and Schenn? Then again, why would Dallas flip Been?
In all, if you're going to trade Kane, an elite talent, you have to get an elite talent back in return. |

I think Benn does add more but it seems to be somewhat of a wash. Its that we have a few holes up front. I think by trading Kane and maybe adding something we can fill 2 holes up front. Another center and a forward with size. I'm just using the philly trade as an example of what I would like. Simmonds isn't elite but he would help. Schenn was considered a sure-fire top prospect. Were either of them elite at the time of the trade? Probably not. How about a top 8 pick and voracek? Would that be an acceptable return to you? Just curious? |

Im pretty sure theres 0% chance benn is moved. I think there's a high chance lehtonen is moved. You guys would have to decide with Kane. Trade him for a true #1 goalie or a #2C with the skill sets of a guy like Benn or Kesler. |

Stan upset at leddy's agent for playing him is an inditement of stan since he should know that the agents job is to get his client the best deal possible.
If stan is mad at leddy's agent there are a number of other gm's he should avoid since they have taken advantage of him. |

Trading Leddy because of who is agent is would be as stupid as trading Brouwer for a pick and then not replacing his skill set...only an idiot would do it... |

stan bowman would be an awesome starting pitcher for either the cubs or sox. why not? looks like he's good at throwing no hitters! i'm done for the nite!!!!!!
i'm thinking about trying to get a tix for that convention just so i could
A) watch bowman get grilled
B) watch bowman try to turn the "kids" spin
C) watch MCD parade roberto luongo in
D) see bowmans step up and big trade aquisition of consequence
E) none of the above
F) all of the above |

Agreed. Benn isn't going anywhere. I'm surprised that you think Lehtonen would be available, at least now. Given the free agents Dallas signed, trading Lehtonen right now would almost seem like Dallas is throwing in the towel. Beyond Lehtonen, you have Bachman, who obviously can't carry the load. I'd also think Campbell is not ready to slide into the #1 spot in the NHL.
If Dallas is out of the running come February, I could maybe see Lehtonen getting dealt. |

We don't have to give up Kane to fill those positions! And if we did give him up,he alone gets both in return! |
