Every year my fellow Sabres fans talk about how we are loaded with prospects. A few years ago the same thing was said, none of these amazing prospects have helped the team win a playoff rd. Who cares about prospects? What are you doing to win a cup now? Fire Darcy and lindy. I hope Doan doesn't come to buffalo to waste his last few years. If Doan came here he would love how lindy switches lines around every other shift.

wonder which team wanted doan that bad. im a sabres fan and i like doan but not for 4 years. buffalo has to overpay to get players to come there so this sounds like a move buffalo would make but 4 years is along time ,espicailly when we have a really deep farm system with foligno, adam, grigorenko, armia, girgenson and tropp all fighting for a 2 roster spots.

So to summarize, the Sabres offered him a contract similar to 4yrs/30m but it may not be the specific offer that is being widely reported. How convenient, if it turns out to be the Sabres he was right. If it turns out it wasn't the Sabres, he was right because while they did "make an offer" it wasn't that "specific offer". You can't lose.

First Time I have agreed with a Leafs Fan.

if i was a athlete i would like a area like buffalo because we are a huge sports town. were a small town but 90+% of the residents are bills and sabres fans. $500k gets you a mansion with land. generally no traffic, everywere is ~20mins away, lots of golf courses, low cost of living, not much crime.

why a athlete wouldnt want to live in buffalo...no nightlife, nothing really to do, your not really a celebrity here, low population so not many girls to pick and choose from, SNOW!!!!!!

LA is a perfect non-hockey market.

We have a lot of die hard fans just given the population size, even though the city as a whole doesn't embrace hockey like it does the Lakers, Dodgers, Angels. Even when we were bad, we still (I'm pretty sure) had better attendance records than cities like Pittsburgh, etc. when they were bad.
