Ballardscurse: Good stats, I guess, you just leave no room for improvement and ignore injuries. You want to know where goals are going to come from? Gionta led the team with 25+ goals for 2 years before missing most of last year and only scoring 8 (first time in 7 years he's had less than 20, including 48 6 years ago), so there's 20 more. Plekanec had his lowest goal total in 5 seasons, he scored 20+ for 4 straight years, so there's 5-10 more. Bourque, after 2 straight 27 goal season, scored 18 last year. Our defence IS improved with Markov, even if he's at 80%, since we had a revolving door of defencemen last year. A healthy Markhov is more than capable of 50 points. Subban should be better in his top 2 role after another year of development, could easily score 15-20 with Markov feeding him on the PP. And we haven't even talked about a rookie making an impact, like Leblanc, Gallagher, or Geoffrion... With a 3rd line consistenting of Eller with Moen and Armstrong, 2 guys who can pop 10-20 goals a season gives us a little more offensive depth. No reason Eller can't keep developping and score more than he did. A strong defence will gives us more offensive chances, led by Gorges, Subban, Markhov, Bouillon, and Emelin (who led the KHL in PP goals 2 seasons ago). Can I stop? Report this comment!
