At this point, I wouldnt have been angry if Sather had kicked Jagr's tires while available... and did for Stepan what he did for Giroux.

Meh, Jagr is 40 & we have been down that road before. No use in going back.

Can't wait for the Olympic team. Not only will they be good but I can see tons of Rangers on that team

If the CBA allows there to be an Olympic team. It isn't committed to, yet.

Good point...a small part of me wants to see Ovechkin make good on his promise to defect and play for the Russian National Team whether there is an agreement in place or not.

doesn't say when, possibly before last season when Gaborik was coming off that bad season.

I know that Torts loves Dan Boyle.

Buccigross' comment makes it seem as if it was recent though. I can't see the Rangers doing that unless they already had a deal in place for Nash.

I can't see the Sharks wanting to trade for Gaborik with a torn rotator cuff coming off surgery

plus i don't think you're allowed to trade injured players so this had to be discussed when he was healthy.

if it was last summer, it kind of makes sense I guess

Rangers just signing Richards, and him and Boyle were huge components of the 2004 Torts coached Cup winners in Tampa, and Gaborik was coming off a bad season and horrendous playoff.

Boyle is a right handed shooting powerplay guru, and the contracts are pretty even

yea but at the same time the whole idea of signing richards was giving gaborik someone to play with.

in our minds, yes.

edit: Buccigross does say it was a recent development which is utter B.S.

The Rangers season ended May 25th and it was announced he was having shoulder surgery on June 1st.

A player can be dealt while injured as long as the team acquiring him signs off on it and acknowledges they know the extent of the injury. Where teams get in trouble is if the purposefully do not disclose knowledge they have of an injury to a player they are trading away to another.

True but I'm not sure it makes sense to do it last year either from a Rangers perspective. Without Gaborik the goals really would have been hard to come by last year. At least now they could swing a trade for Nash conceivably.

You can as long as the team acquiring the injured player is fully aware of the extent of the injury and signs off on the deal. Teams can get into hot water however if it can be proven they did not disclose information about the severity of an injury to a player it is trading away. That was what happened with Edmonton and LA last year though the Kings still ended up keeping Colin Fraser after returning the first injured player dealt to them in the first incarnation of the Ryan Smyth trade.

Yep, but this all moot anyway. This came from Buccigross who is about as reliable as my foot.

He's all about entertainment anyway. Seems to be little substance to any of his reporting. We Ranger fans are so wound up waiting for something, anything to happen that any time he mentions a rumor or something we get all amped up. I wish he would just keep his mouth shut.

I just want Doan and Semin signed somewhere and Nash and Ryan traded somewhere so we can all move on.
