Except the max was 11 mil for Kovy... max now is 12 mil... plus Kovy got 6 mil for the first 2 years of the contract to keep the team cap compliant.

Weber will get something like Suter, except Weber will get the max for like 4 years rather than 2.

all they gotta do is make sure Dubinsky is in the trade.

Getting rid of his 4.2 million hit is a must in any equation no matter what big name they were to bring back.

whole lot of rumors on the twitter about talks with the Rangers and Ducks heating up.

Could be just one person saying it and then everybody us re-tweeting it out of boredom.

Heres a Kovy-like contract

14 years, 102 million (7.285m AAV)

Break down... 8, 8, 12, 12, 12, 12, 9, 9, 9, 5, 3, 1, 1, 1

First 2 years, keeping them compliant until the year Gaborik becomes a FA. Also allowing them the ability to sign Semin for 2 years.

whatever it takes.

If they traded for him, sign him for the longest possible with the lowest cap hit possible.

this will be the last summer where that kind of thing is allowed most likely

and then, everybody gets to yell at the Rangers for ruining hockey again, and I know we all miss that

how bad do think people want to blame the the rangers even though they have to blame teams like wild, bruins, canucks and flames.

Oh yea, its a beaut!

Any Dman that wants to get paid should play 2 years in Vancouver to take advantage of the Sedin effect.

Miller will be part of a trade for Weber.

Id love to part with Erixon instead of Miller, but I find it hard to believe they dont demand Miller.

- NYRPowerPlay

last i checked erixon was ranked a better prospect than miller. iirc, erixon was ranked as the 6th best prospect in the entire NHL at one point and was consistently ranked better than kreider. i don't think it's a stretch to say some teams would rather have erixon over miller.

Depends on need, but considering the hold out with Calgary, dont know how many would want to potentially deal with him holding out again.

Difference is he wasn't comfortable with his future role in Calgary and elected not to sign an Entry Level Contract with Calgary. He is under an ELC currently which would transfer with him when and if dealt. He could hold out but it wouldn't benefit him in the least. In fact he would be subject to fines as would Nash if he were to hold out.

By the time Sauer is healthy, Staal will already have joined his brothers in Carolina

True but unlike when he didn't choose to sign an ELC with the Flames his options are very limited. Then he had the option of going back in the draft and working out something with that team or not and now he is stuck either playing for the team that owns his contract or sitting out and not making any money. Doubt he does that.
