I know he's still a borderline minor leaguer but the Flyers did bring back Danny Syvert. I know he's undersized as well but he's a pretty good offensive D man. I'm assuming he got brought to the Phantoms as a depth defense move but he's still only 27 and has 4 years and 20 pounds on Gus. Any chance Syvert could leapfrog at training camp?

I don't think so. This team has some depth on the blueline already.
If anything they will be a difficult team to play against..
On defense they have the #1 hitter, and then 4 guys at least 6'2'' 220.

Since some have suggested that no one on D can pass the puck, I would just have our D-men pass to the other team and then smash them ino the boards, taking advantage of the 220 lbs.
Sort of like that game when we were kids - "Stop hitting youself".

God knows how awesome it is to watch that game.
I just wanna see one broken pane of glass per game. Not too much to ask!
Disagree.. If he continues how he played the second half of the season we will have a top 10 goalie. - jak521
Oh I agree. But if he does not get some consistency and plays 'not terrible' all the time we are in trouble. I'm not saying he has to play like he did in March all the time but if he doesn't get more consistency throughout the year the team isn't going to know what to expect from him, which costs confidence. I know he can do it, but he still NEEDS to do it.

This is how I saw it..
A guy goes from one team to another.. a team thats new to him. There is going to be an adjustment period. Now, that new team he went to, was actually a new team itself...
We had 14 players (not counting Grossmann or Kubina) who were new to the team. That team is gonna have a tough job adjusting early on... So of course the first half there would be consistency issues.. but right around the start of January things started to come together.. we werent as looosey goosey.. I have faith.
