Don't ever use the term gansta g's again. Coming from stockton, ca (most murders in the US at 37 and counting this year) I hope you come here and use that term. You'll get killed for less here. They are not "gangsta," they are highly skilled hockey players. Using that term is an insult to those of us that actually have to worry everyday about real "gangsta's." Even they think it's a stupid term. Come out and see the boys killing over the color of a shirt before you throw that term out there. It's not cute or funny, nor appropriate, and for some of us, it's a daily reality.

So Grigorenko isn't playing center in that scenario?

1st line: Hodgson
2nd line: Ennis
3rd line: Grigorenko
4th line: McCormick/Adam/Leino?

Ideally, Grigorenko plays about 10 out of the first 20 games before Christmas with the Sabres, rotating in and out of the line-up with a player like Arnott. This means Adam and Catanucci and Girgenson go to the minors to start the season.
Then, we send Grigorenko to the the Q, until Christmas, so he can play in the World Juniors.
We bring up Adam (if he is not traded in a package before the season) and play him to show case him for the trade deadline...then we package him and say another player for a decent forward or defenseman. If not Adam, we bring up Girgenson, like we did Foligno last year.

This of course means the sabres would not make any deals before the start of the season, which I do not believe will be the case.

PS. Would it not be crazy if Buffalo did sign Hasek to a two way contract and brought him up for a couple of games toward the end of the season to retire his number.....and then per chance Miller got injured in the playoffs, Dom dons the pads and leads us to the Stanley Cup.......what a dream ending to a career that would be!

What role would you want Arnott to play here?

I went to the blue and gold developmental camp scrimmage and this is what I took away from it.

Standouts : team blue - Foligno looked very good , couple nice scoring chances and some big hits of course.

I liked that Jacob Lagace as well. Smooth skater with some nice moves. Got crunched into the boards from behind , got a penalty shot from it and dazzled the crowd with a sweet move under the bar (where momma hides the cookies).

Fred Roy showed some tenacity charging to the net but no finish. (sound familiar) ?
Armia surprised me on how he is not afraid to toss his body around and has immense talent (looked great)
Girgensons was as advertised but is more skilled offensively then I anticipated. Scored a real nice goal (highlight reel)
Wise scored a hatty and I was like who? Excellent finishing skill around the net for sure. (keeper) !
Grigorenko was a mild disapointment. Not much from him until the end when they did a shootout and he scored on a slick move but I left wanting more from our 1st rounder for sure. Be surprised to see him on the opening day roster the way he played.
Unimpressed with both Mcnabb and Pysyk. Mcnabb missed hits , shots, falling all ov er himself. Pysyk I didnt know was out there most times. Very unimpressed with both.
BEST player on both teams in my opinion was defenseman Corey Fienhage ! This guy was doing what I thought Mcnabb was going to do. Hitting everything , positionaly sound in his own end, shot blocking you name it defensively , Fienhage did it and did it very very well. Also scored a goal on a nice screen from the point.
Best goalie from both sides was Connor Knapp by far. Big kid , plays his angles very well (keeper) with honorable mention to Guggenberger who played well also and made some really tough saves in tight. Just dont like how high he holds his glove hand.

Gold team -

Luke Adam , Hodgson and Tropp all faired the same. Nothing special but Adam (scored a goal) looked better than Hodgson and Tropp.

Catenacci is quick and smooth , scored a nice goal .

Sundher was nothing special.

West Seneca native Lepkowski was average .

J.Gauthier-Leduc was a disappointment as well. I seen nothing special from him. Looked just like your average dman out there.

Gold's goalies very unimpressive. Ullmark was lit up and Lieuwen was equaly unimpressive.

Blue team was stacked in my opinion and won the scrimmage 7-3 .

From what I seen at the scrimmage I'd be surprised to see Grigorenko make the opening day roster.

Luke Adam is not playing center any longer , they have him playing wing.

Armia and Girgensons both looked more NHL ready than Grigorenko EASILY!

We skipped some deadline last I heard... I know the blue ones with the word "Buffalo" across the front are done...

I don't think we are getting any 3rd jersey as Pegula or Darcy or someone is not very fond of them....

I would actually like if they brought back the goat head jerseys for a game or two.. just for fun. I keep hoping they would be included in an NHL game.

i think a gold base colored jersey would look cool. like the nashville predators have, but better
