I'm glad no GM is caving to Gillis' ridiculous trade requests for Luongo and that contract of his.

You need to move him, you created this problem by firstly awarding him that contract AND essentially running him out of town... How dare you turn around and ask for the moon!!!

Cut your loses and move on... Canucks gave up garbage to land Luongo in the first place

- ejeezy

I know to even think people are saying that Gardiner should be incvolved in a Luongo deal I feel like slaping them

He won't be moved until the canucks realize that they are making a trade to simply get rid of someone, not to add any talent to the team.

A few people suggesting Kadri could be Leafs answer at centre. He should get NHL role, but Marlies didn't use him down middle a whole lot.

- Pecafan Fan

I think he played center quite a bit though, certainly more than "not a whole lot".

I really only caught a few playoff games so I can't say for sure.

How is Bernier any better than Reimer or Scrivens?
- Atomic Wedgie

By putting up better numbers at a younger age? Bernier has been a top goaltending prospect for awhile now.

The problem with Bernier is that he's 5'11 and that probably wouldn't sit well with the Leafs goaltending philosophy.

I don't think it would be tampering if you are just talking about trades.

It's tampering if you are talking about signing a guy before he is UFA.

his best games in both jr and with the marlies were at centre.....unlike JVR, it is where Kadri is most comfortable.

Do you think Kadri has to add some size though?

First round draft pick vs 4th rounder and undrafted

That automatically means hes an upgrade

not so much size, as strength, he was pushed off pucks far too easily in his nhl games .....roberts will take care of that.

Ah, yes, of course.

A lot of times, if a guy is on the block, the GM will give permission to the agent to try to find the guy a home.

Maybe this is the case here.

Mirtle's saying Kadri didn't play center last year for the Marlies. Umm what? I'm sure he did.
- gravyface

He did not play center in the playoffs, except when injury or special teams usage necessitated it.

He was the wing with Zigomanis and Hamilton, presumably to cover up for his defensive shortcomings.

we talking about the florida owner who flew to vegas?

i honestly think owners get away with things that the GMs dont.. one call to gillis from aquilini telling him to keep his mouth shut on the matter would quickly end any thoughts of tampering charges

Any idea how often he played center? He played 48 games I think. I'm assuming when Colborne was hurt he took over the #1 center position, but can't say how much he'd played center.

Good to know, thanks. Can't even find real-time stats for the NHL, let alone line combos.
