Was he playing a true centermen role?? Straight up and down the middle, or was he sort of floating from the middle to the sides??

Reason I ask is, Kessel doesn't really play a straight up and down right side..... he floats to where the openings are. Don't think Kessel would work with another type of floating around player. Could lead to some very poor defensive coverage

Kadri floats-- he looks for openings and takes the puck through them. Those two-way would be dreadful together defensively, especially with Lupul as the third guy.

I'm a perfect fourth liner! I hack at ankles any chance I get!

I can't do much else, but what I do well... I do well.

don't sell yourself short, around here everyone can play first line center

Kadri playing to his potential and becoming the first line centre would be ideal. That way, JVR can play the wing on the second line and we don't have to give up assets for a first line centre. It's definitely a long shot though.

I like this plan. Kadri should be the first line centre that he was drafted to be. His explosiveness and ice vision would make him dangerous with our two dynamite snipers Kessel and Lupul. That would allow JVR to play on the second line with Grabo at centre and Kulemin on the other wing (imagine the grit that line would have ).

In a perfect world where Kadri does turn some heads and becomes the first liner here are my projected lines.

Lupul - Kadri - Kessel
Kulemin - Grabovski - JVR
Lombardi - Steckel - Brown/MacArthur - Or trade MacArthur
Rosehill - McClement - Brown/MacAruthr/Ashton

Trades that open up if Kadri stuns the world:

Bozak - trade for a yound winger
Connelly - who realistically should be traded or bought out anyways, could be used to attract some mid-round picks or a young prospect.

But unless something amazing happens over the summer I think Kadri will stay in the position he is in, called up and sent down relentlessly until he can solidify his position with the big club. Not sure about the future of Bozak or Connely on this team.

Ya thats what I thought. That experiment would last two shifts in a regular game at the most before Randy blows a gasket and would break that line up.

Thought I read somewhere that Frattin won't be ready till around November
- faceto27

The only official word I've heard was that Burke said "he's not sure" if Frattin will be ready in time for camp. Assuming the worst, he starts with a Marlies on a conditioning stint while Burke frantically tries to unload bodies.

I just don't see him moving all these bodies before camp starts: you never know, what if Lombardi comes back strong after a proper off-season of training? Same with Connolly, he could look great in camp and maybe steal the #1 center position (like he was brought here to do). Out of all our centers, he's really the only one that's ever held and produced at a #1 center pace.

I just can't see Burke jettisoning all these bodies before camp starts; not unless it's part of a trade for roster players, the sum of which is greater than the parts (i.e. for a real #1 center).

He also has someone on the fourth line as a regular that wasn't even offered a contract, love these line combo's from HB coaches.
