Look at both prospect pools. Did you watch the draft this year? The Flames had one of the most pathetic drafts in modern era.
The Leafs have a young core. The Flames are getting older. One of the oldest teams in the league yet they can't even take a sniff at the playoffs. Sad really. - thomas81
I like the Flames chances with Kipper in goal a lot better than the Leafs with ???????? in goal. |

Write a blog about being outscored so badly in second periods and the horrible OT/SO record.
The Flames were something like 5-16 last year in OT and the shoot out. If they were eveb .500 in those contests, they would have made the playoffs (albeit near 8th still).
I wonder how often they practiced the 4 on 4 or the shoot out. |

You're ranking the draft from 4 weeks ago already?
Clearly I'm talking to a wizard of hockey knowledge...
Your young core has yet to prove anything. Yes they're young, but they led your team to the 5th worst record in the league last year. That's 9 spots behind our aging decrepit squad...
Evidently you're far too smart and intuitive for things like stats or results though...
In a contest of rainbows, lollipops, and sunshine I'll admit you have me beat. |

Lol, not at all! Baertschi's awesome. I was there for his first goal, but I was there for Iggy's 500th, and also for the golden stick ceremony...
Got a little misty in the dome watching the team go crazy for their captain, then again when Conroy came down and gave him a hug at the ceremony. - jtommyt
Haha...no doubt it was the best, no argument.
Iggy is the man!!! |

Reimer will bounce back. That's a fact.
Kipper will soon need a walker to get to his net. |

I think that was one of the attractions of Hudler...it'll be nice to have Sven, Cervenka etc. Couple of new options for the shoot-out. Tanguay getting hurt really messed them in the last half because he couldn't go in the shootout. |

Aside from going to the Calder cup finals. Our young core is getting better. Unlike you guys, we choose to develop our players. |

Develop them into what?
How many players on the Leafs were drafted by them?
You're kidding yourself. |

Your team played ours in the semis... If that's your measure for the strength of the farm system it looks like we're pretty close to even.
As far as player development goes, I'm not sure you can point at anyone outside of Gardiner (who was acquired from Anaheim, not drafted by the leafs) as being a success story of player development last year.
Schenn earned himself a ticket out of town, Kadri continues to disappoint... Where's this developmental success you're championing? |

Don't worry Huddle, we don't lump all Leafs fans together over here in the Stampede city. We know there are good smart fans over there in Toronto too. |

Brian, what the hell did I say to "troll"? Please.
Talking about hockey in a hockey forum should not be considered trolling. - thomas81
LOL. Coming in and going "I feel bad for you, writing for such a crappy team" or whatever is trolling to a t. But congratulations on your comprehension level. It;s staggeringly high.
That's sarcasm, if you didn't know.
Now go away. |

Good! haha. It bugs me when people of any fanbase do that, and give the fanbase a bad rep. Leafs fans can be the worst at it, because of how many there are. |
