From the point of view of a Sens fan, I can say if you don't win it all in the playoffs, you didn't win anything. President's trophy? Makes no difference in the grand scheme of things. Making it to the finals? Just the most recognizable loser that year, nothing more.

Have you seen what mediocre players have been signing for? A good, solid defenseman who has the ability to score goals by the plenty, help out on the PP and PK is a bargain at 4.6. He was going to get more from other teams but wanted to go home to a team who can make the playoffs every year.

I agree with where he is coming from. Going on about being the best team in hockey and planning parades in the off season because you make it to the semis' (and lose) , finals (and lose) and most recently quarters (and lose). Is a bit much.

Lord knows I would love to see my leafs even get swept in the first round of the playoffs.
