Coltor Orr for 4 years at $1m per was my favourite.

Giving someone who plays 3 minutes a night 4 million dollars. What a concept.

Yeah that signing really crippled the team..

Those Canuck UFA signings have really put the team over the top eh... eh..

The Orr signing wasn't really a bad thing. At 1 mill per, it was quite harmless in the overall scheme of things. Fact of the matter is that orr, on a lot of nights, was the only spark the team had. he was demo'ing guys and the Leafs would get fired up. Was he a good player? No, but he at least offered some fight in him, along with my boy Brown. The fact that orr was such a spark is more telling of the state of the Leafs though. Komisarek's deal was a crippler. I actually liked the Beauchemin signing when it happened. he just never clicked in TO, but he'd still be a guy I'd be fine adding.

Who cares if it crippled the team or not, it was an awful awful signing.

Just curious, what is over the top to a Leafs fan? finishing top 10 in the conference? making the playoffs? 1st round? 2nd round?

Komisarek was a terrible signing...but that's what happens when you go after guys on July1...yet people were mad Burke didn't do anything this year...
What do you mean by over the top? What we would like to see this year?

I'm not talking about the Leafs I'm talking about a team that came within 1 game of a stanley cup and a fan base that fancies their team a serious contender........ proper UFA signings should put said team over the top, would you not agree?

Agreed.
Also, Beauch got Gardiner and Loop.

For sure, I'm just clarifying that not all the signings were busts on their own merit, you know? I think most people were happy about adding Beauchemin and more or less said Burke had a good signing with him, regardless of how it turned out on the ice for the Leafs. He's a quality player and the contract was right on. I'm not a big hidnsight guy, but I know how I felt when it happened. I was always opposed to signing Komisarek though. I had zero value for him with the Habs and always thought Markov made him look better than he was.

Hopefully Mr Garrison equals Komi's impact.

From the point of view of a Sens fan, I can say if you don't win it all in the playoffs, you didn't win anything. President's trophy? Makes no difference in the grand scheme of things. Making it to the finals? Just the most recognizable loser that year, nothing more.

The last point of view I'd ask for is that of a Sens fan.
