Voracek is younger than Ryan so will be be making as much when he turns his age? If you believe he will be better than Ryan they he would get more money at some point. I have zero issues trading Voracek, MAB, prospect, later pick for Ryan.

I have no clue why they would add Read unless they feel he's not that hard to replace. Did his numbers decline over the second half? He will be 26 this year also so maybe they don't view him as a prospect who will be much better than he was this year. Honestly, I don't know.

They would add him because Ryan is an nice shiny toy who is know to members of the organization and he's from Cherry Hill.

Read averages almost 2 minutes more per game on the PK than Ryan. Voracek plays an average of 9 seconds less per game on the PK.

pfff they can go. None of them can keep up with G.

Bobby Ryan would easily pot 66 goals on G's wing. He would in Anaheim as well if he werent playing with those two bums Getzlaf and Perry

You cant base how a player will be paid in 3-4 years... so much changes. However, if Voracek is signed on to a 4 year deal now.. it would be assumed that he would be at a lower hit..

I think it matters to the Flyers who will have their young guns up for new contracts. I don't know the thought process by Homer. All I can say is players come and go while others step up and take on bigger roles.

I don't buy that shiny toy statement. You make a trade that you feel helps your club. I honestly do t care where he is from, does he make the team better in that deal?

IMO, if it's Voracek and Read+ for Ryan alone, they don't become better

Realistically... we dont have to worry about paying Schenn or Coots big money for about 6 years.. Three years they will get a raise.. and that raise likely wont be a huge cap hit. G will, but by then Briere will be out... So sign Voracek for 3-4 years at around 3.75-4 aav.. When Ryan becomes a UFA, sign him. By then you will be able to tell who should or shouldnt be getting paid.

Then you don't make the trade without lowering your offer to where you feel it's comfortable.

Nor do I... I personally believe in club depth being a huge reason for success. Look at the past 5 or 6 Cup winners.. They all had 4 lines that could play serious minutes..

If we were have an injury or two on offense after that proposed trade.. we could be looking at a reallllly thing forward corps.

I don't think voracek takes that offer. His agent should go on the one year deal bc if he plays with Giroux and puts up numbers he will make even more.

That's been the entire point of my posts. If Ryan comes in at a fair price, go do it.

Yes. I'd be fine if he received an identical deal to David Perron's 4 years, $3.8+mm hit

So trading Voracek and Read who combined for 42 goals, 54 assists, and 106 points for Bobby Ryan who posted 31 goals and 26 assists for 57 points.... is a step in the right direction?
