Interesting... hahaha

That's one hell of a lineup from top to bottom if you ask me. You don't get that if you trade away the young guys tho.

This guy sounds awfully bitter about not being included in the Carter deal to Columbus. Your name is on the cup instead. Boo hoo.
- hereticpride

I hear what your saying but as a professional athlete you want to get the chance to play and perform at the highest level. I wont knock Bernier for that but the writing is on the wall in LA now.

Yeah, yeah. I know but when the trade at the deadline would have been to Columbus...and in hindsight you won the cup it's a little bratty to say you expect to be moved before training camp.

And Bobby Ryan had a bad relationship with his Stanley Cup winning head coach and publicly ripped his GM.

And despite scoring 30+ goals for 4 straight years, the Ducks are willing to trade him. That says something, too

It sure does. Not going to overpay for him

How long ago did Luongo sign his megadeal in Vancouver? Never heard Cory Schneider demand to be traded publicly.

I don't think so. The kid wants to play, and get his NHL career going. Not continue to work the door on the bench. What's wrong with that? He wouldn't be worth his salt as a competitor if he didn't want to play. Can't expect a guy to be happy in that situation.

That's where my thought process breaks down. Some seem more than happy to overpay for Ryan and bring him in ASAP. Me, if the cost is right, let's do it.

I'd give Semin two years at most, but I doubt the Flyers have an ounce of interest. I also think at some point, Ryan ends up here or in Toronto, either by trade or UFA.

My lone problem was them dragging it out to force more money out of the Wild. If you both wanted to go to Minnesota and be on the same team, then just go to Minnesota and sign. Don;t sit there and drag it out for the better part of a week to up the money and leave teams hanging.
- Jsaquella

Eh that's the business of the game. I don't see a way around it. Perhaps the flyers came in 30 mil over the wilds original offer. Things change then

I guess he feels like he didnt contribute to them winning a cup. He must feel hes good enough to start in the NHL. I personaly like a player who's competitive. Trade him now!!!

True. I just think he had no reason to go public with it.

Only thing I can think of is he tried doing it behind closed doors and they wouldnt trade him so now its time to go public so he can get traded.

* Alex Semin will likely be the domino to fall when Doan's decision is made. Pitt, NYR, NJ, and Detroit are all in Semin. Per EK

Three teams from your division are after him. Flyers need to be in on this. He would be a great addition.

Well the article posted said that he asked the Kings to trade him at the deadline, and that he expects to be traded. What was the context of the response? Was he asked a direct question? In which he gave an honest answer. Always have to consider that.

I'd go two years, pushed to 3 if necessary. Save for him having some sort of a grand meltdown for some reason he'd be an easy player to trade for a team trying to reach the cap floor if need be.

I really wouldn't be worried about him coming here. I'd be excited. So much about him is blown out of proportion it's crazy.

The new article suggests Read, Voracek, MAB and picks for Ryan. NO WAY. I'd definitely go with Semin before I'd trade all that.

Homer's got to be thinking about the baggage Semin would be dragging along behind him.

Once bitten, twice shy. Or something like that.

I agree. Is it possible the Flyers get back more than just Ryan?

You don't win championships by being scared from something in the past. I'm sure having Bryzgalov makes things even worse for the Russian label (as the Flyers probably think hes nuts).

The new article reads like the old articles. It doesn't look like Ana has changed it's alleged request concerning the players they want in return.

If the option is give up on Read and Jake for Ryan or put a team out on the ice including Semin, Read and Jake I'd sooner put my money on the latter being the better team.

And you don't win any by signing other team's headaches.

Washington's 5th all time goal scorer, in his prime, and the Caps don't want him back? Kinda makes you scratch your head and say hmmmmm....

I'd have to drop a line to Knoobs if I were Homer and ask what's really up with this guy? If anybody would know if he'd be a good fit here, it would probably be Mike.
