As I mentioned before Spacek and Coliaccavio MAYBE Jurcina! Missing Mueller is a missed opportunity that would have been as easy sell and a safe bet! - undisputed_8821

Ok who do you bump out of a top six roll...
Hall, RNH, Eberle, Yakupov, Gagner, Hemsky ? - Starbuck
Reunite Hemsky with Smyth and Horcoff! You couldn't see that one coming? |

Smyth / Horcoff / Jones
That line worked out pretty good last year... Why put Hemsky on the 3rd line so you can take a chance on a reclamation project (see Cam Barker). |

i think you're underestimating mueller. the guys totally sick tbh just made out of glass. he's big, knows how to use his size, and has great hands. |

OK you win!! Why take a chance on a guy that went 8th overall and has near same ppg as our 2nd line center (Gagner) for $1.75mill!! You're right waste of time!!! Let's just wait and "hope" Hemsky finds his form with no one to replace him if needed! |

Mueller couldn't even get ice time in COL, a team that needed offense. He is far from the answer here. |

At the time BArker was a low risk chance so at the time most Oiler fans were all for it! All except you of course! The point is and I will type as slow as I can here!! It is a LOW RISK, HIGH REWARD opportunity on a player that would have cost $1.75 Million!! How do you guys NOT see that!! SERIOUSLY!!! |

i think what he's trying to say is that a 1 year deal for under 2 mil person for a guy who has the potential to score 25-30 goals who fits a need on your team (size) is a good gamble. if he can't crack the top 6 then oh well...no such thing as too many top 6 wingers right? and if he sucks then after the season his contract is off the books and it's not like you guys need that <2 mil in capspace for this season. |

We have guys like that already. If we are going after someone make it someone that brings something different to this team or is a proven vet to play some minutes. |

Right!! I forgot all the guys with size the Oilers have capable to play top 6 minutes and potential 25-30 goal scorers. I am fairly new as an Oiler fan so I forget their names so maybe you can help me out? Oiler top 6 over 6 feet and 200 lbs? |

i understand if some of you guys want your GM to focus more on defense rather than signing low risk high reward type deals like mueller's or wolski's but i can't believe you guys are so adament about wanting absolutely nothing to do with mueller. if you guys did sign mueller that doesn't mean you couldn't go after a defenseman either...if anything, you could use mueller as a trade piece or it could make someone else expendable so that you guys can get that top 4 defenseman.
would you guys consider trading eberle for marc staal+? |

The problem is Mueller isn't capable of what you are saying. If he was he would've been signed on July 1, not 12th. |

nah he's capable of it he just dies every season. watch a highlight reel and you'll see his sick hands and his size being used very effectively. i feel like i remember him coming back from injury once with the avs and lit the entire league up for a good stretch of games before getting injured again. |

I wouldn't say I want nothing to do with him, but I by no means am upset about missing out on an injury prone forward. People complain when we miss out on these guys, and then when we do actually sign them they complain when the guy sucks.
This isn't a huge loss by any means. There will be guys on waivers that end up being better than Mueller this year. |

haha he's got the potential. it's like saying gagner isn't capable of scoring more than 50 points because he hasn't in 5 seasons in the show.
this is a signing that will make florida's front office look amazing if he scored 20+ goals and if he doesn't then who cares he's off the books anyway.
but i understand where you guys are coming from. these type of low risk high reward signings hardly work out as i know from experience with frolov a couple seasons ago. and it's not like you guys are lacking serious firepower so it's not a big deal that you missed out on this.
what would it take from the rangers to get eberle? would marc staal + brian boyle + 1st be a good start? |

A ranger fan gets it but Oiler fans don't!! Maybe why management is so inept (Edmontonian thinking way). YIKES!! I have said if before and I will say it again the ONLY downfall that can happen with this team is mismanagement! Passing on these type players is a MISTAKE!! Plain and simple a MISTAKE for a last place team!!
I will explain low risk: To sign a player for $1.75 million with NOTHING to lose!
High reward: Signing a player at $1.75 million and he goes on to score 25+ goals! Has the potential to do so!
Worst case scenario: He doesn't score at near that pace (less than 10) then you let him go! DOES NOT AFFECT any roster players as far as anyone having to leave!!! |

at $1.75 million it is less than league average!! Why would you risk that? Or is it why wouldn't you? |

OMG, you're so not listening. He is brilliant and talented and capable of being Sidney v2.0 that's why everyone was jumping all over him in the offseason! He's a hot commodity for the 20-30 games a year you'd get out of him, and you can bump one of your uber-talented youth back to the AHL to make room for him, maybe RNH? Christ even Hemskey plays more than this douche, plus he's 'Merican, nuff said. |
