I thought the oilers offered him and prv for yandle?
And pho put it out as the offer to beat... Thought this was common knowledge.
Didnt dreger say this? Dont really remember though.

Isnt this what we've been talkin about since the deadline?

Id also like like to include the fact that krueger is on record sayin he wants to try a natural winger to take his position. Not exactly a vote of confidence.
maybe he just wants them to switch positions. But still curious.

YEah, I suppose the floor is shooting up isn't it. It would really depend on the return.

I'm not really in favour of dumping Horcoff just to save money. After all, with the cap going up, we're not really in a money crunch this year.

- Morris

fully agree. we don't deal horcs until we have an alternative for him as a third line centre. possibly lander. but in his last two years he becomes a very tradable asset due to his cap hit and actual salary. hard to see a scenario where is is not traded for his value to other teams alone.

If i were to guess i could see horcoff and one or two prospects who are on the verge of making the nhl but not the oilers going for one very high prospect

Gags+MPS for Yandle...sounds familiar now that you mention it, still for 3 years apparently the Oilers management have been shopping him more than anyone else.

I add, to your Kreuger quote, the Tambi quote about Gagner being a part of the Oilers future...that is a vote of confidence.

Eberle to C:

Hartikainen-RNH-Yakupov
Hall-Eberle-Hemsky

Eberle played center as recently as 2 years ago in his final year of juniors. He's been solid on the dot, has a stronger two-way game, and is more mature than Hall in ways needed to play this role.

Only thing I critique is the Thor as 1LW. That is a reach, I could see him slotted into 2LW.

It solves our sandpaper problem in theory, but Dont think teemu has the hands nor the skating to be a full time, effective top 6'er.

Just for argument sake....a problem player or one thats fallen out of favour notwithstanding, have u ever heard a gm or coach say to the media "yeah we're really tryin to move this guy, he's not in our future plans whatsoever"..?
This is just bad business on so many levels.

And again, just for argument sake... the opposite has been said when pressed for a trade rumour tidbit. " no, we havent contacted anyone. We have no plans to deal so and so"
And a week later hes dealt..

Who knows what the deal is, but im fairly confident the second is much more plausible than the first. Especially a character guy like sammy.

why move eberle and split him from RNH who he had excellent chemistry with last year and was almost a PPG player to a different line and position? He aint broke so don't try to fix him.

you guys all realize that nobody outside of edmonton rates gagner as highly as you do right? one good streak.

if he was a big body, sure he'd be desirable. teams don't want small centers. he's not a 2nd line center on any top team and on a good team they wouldn't want a small skilled guy as their number 3. the only market is a team like columbus, minnesota or the islanders who need a 2nd line center and would settle for him.

you will not get a top 6 or top 4 defenseman in return. there is zero chance of that happening. you'll get a bottom 6 forward or a bottom pairing defenseman and either a prospect or a pick no earlier than the 2nd round.

This is funny!! The most shopped Oiler over the past 3 seasons and you clima he isn't going anywhere. All heart is laughable as well!
- undisputed_8821

Shopped by who? HB posters? Tell me how he isnt all heart. He fights beuchmen(spelling is way off) after he cranked hall. Gags knows hes gunna get tuned but stuck up for his teammate. Most players his size look the other way.

our team is better. everyone knows that. if the media didn't hate vancouver for some reason, then neither would you. we're canadian's just like you. we cheered for your team and calgary's team when they went to the cup.

"casucks". really?

It was always proposed in a package...
And u speak for some hb fans, not nhl gm's. So please dont claim it as fact.
And Hes way more valuable than u think.
Dont make me sick laughs on u to throw down all the numbers!

Im one of sammys detractors here mostly cause of his size on an already small top 6. But u realize since 07-08, only 35 centers have scored more than him?
So using simple arithmetic on 30 teams and 60 top 6 centers.. This puts him way above average for his spot.

Hes worth a late first and separately a top 4 dman.

its not the media, its the false sense of entitlement. And the diving, and whining about the refs and teams playing to rough.

the media? Its called a rivalry, i always have cheered against the casucks and flames simply because its a rivalry, what does being canadian have to do with it??? Its team Vs. team, not country Vs. country here. Yes be lucky its not the 80's you lucky (frank)er, and that social media happens to be big on vancouvers up swing or we would be the cocky arrogant (frank)ers trolling you A-holes for the better part of 12 years, Oilers and Flames fans, so don't feel all special just because your team happens to be good at a time in history you can actually go on your computer and talk trash about it.
Oh actually correction on that, Flames and Oilers fans don't have near the sense of entitlement you fair weather nucks fans have so wouldnt have been nearly as cocky and arrogant as you

Yes Gagner is overrated by some Oiler fans, but he is more underrated by non fans. He has put up respectable 2nd line numbers on a low scoring crappy team. I don't think anyone here thinks a top pairing D would come back in a 1 for 1 trade, a top 6 winger, maybe.

And you do realize that Henrik and Kesler are roughly the same weight and 3 or 4 inches taller, that isn't a huge difference.
