Come again? Who is Mueller making expendable? The guy has done nothing since 07-08, pretty sure you don't acquire him and think you can move someone. - ryan78
What would Mike Milbury do?? |

That and the most expendable centre we have is Belanger, not Gagner.
Note that expendable does not equal tradeable - BigDre
This.
Its all said with a piece getting moved thats valuable enough to bring back a top 4 dman... Even in a package.
Belanger is not that.
Pieces of value that are tradeable imo
2013 1st
Prv
Gagner
Hemsky
Of those 4, i deal the pick first and gags second.
I have np desire to deal prv in a package, unless its for an elite dman |

He is listed as C/RW regardless I would have taken a shot!! Could do very little bad and a lot of good! - undisputed_8821
me thinks you are only looking at the bread in a possible poop sandwich. Ganger is fine at the 2C spot for at least the next 2 years. |

No, the start of your sentence was. It didnt make any sense.
But anyway, hes a natural center, and was moved to the wing in colorado cause they wanted him top 6 and already had duchene and stastny.
Im not arguing for mueller per se, hes an effin bandaid, but more for the reasonable argument that undisputed made.
Side note- to throw a little gas on the fire: i also think his ceiling is higher than gagners - hugefemale dog77
I think it's been established that he's not a natural center. |

Stamkos? Giroux? Tavares? Doughty? Piterangelo? - ryan78
Stamkos is one dimensional- and we already have one up potentially in Yaks... yes he is UNPROVEN but time will tell- he crushed stamkos records in jr... Giroux- he is good -its a tough call... Tavares I would probably do it... doughty I would do it... Pieterangelo I would have to wait- he has to add another season in him and we have to make sure his head is good after that playoff debacle... Eberle is a (frank)ing smart and slick player... he has alot to offer as well... he is worth more than Hall thats for sure... if not the most out of all of them IMO... |

Is Leddy even that good??? this would be just to plug our gaping hole for a season - until the others are ready?? |

No, no it hasnt. Getting moved positions doesnt change your natural position that u played all your life, including in the show.
The avs moving him to wing doesnt change a thing.
If he came here after phoenix he may have NOT been moved. Maybe gags woulda instead. Gags natural position would still be center.
Anywaysss. Fuk the semantics argument. Its boring |

I don't have a lot of hope that PRV will grow some sandpaper to his game and that's what the Oil needs out of him. For me that drops his potential value to the Oil, almost makes him expendable considering the other high-skill kids we have.
I wouldn't trade our next year's first pick until the trade deadline to see where we're at, if we're tanking again, there's no way I move that pick.
Trading Gags without a better plan for 2C (no one in the system now is better there without creating another problem) is a non-starter... we're trying to move forward here, not back. |

If we were to trade Gagner I don't believe signing Arnott is the answer, he doesn't bring what we need.
Say we did trade Gagner and needed to fill the 2C role, i'd put Horcoff there for a season or two. He may not be as flashy as Gagner but he has put up four 50+ point seasons, which is more than we've gotten out of Gagner in his five years. Belanger would then be the 3C, not ideal but if we are assuming we still aren't a playoff team I don't see the issue.
Perhaps more important than size (still would be nice to get bigger) in our top six, would be the will to throw hits. This is one area where I think Paarjavi will not fill in either. - rathagor
Arnott is not what is needed, If the Oilers moved Gagner in a deal for a dman it would be best for them to make a deal (as Ryan has mentioned) with the Rangers prior to get Dubinsky.
I think that he would fill a need in the 2c spot, decent on the draw, 200+ hits a season and good - give /take ratios. As for his points, I think playing in between Hall and Yak would help.
If the cost to get him is reasonable then moving Gag's is possible but the idea of moving Horcoff up to play there is wrong. He needs to play 3c with some PK/PP minutes. Basicallty his ice time needs to be managed better this year too. |
