Oh I'm not holding my breath either, and I don't want to be a downer, but I think trying to take over the #1 center role -- and not as the stop-gap that Bozak has always been pitched as, but as a bonafide, legit #1 center -- is really asking a lot of the guy, especially in this market.

I mean we've been crying for a #1 center ever since Sundin left; big shoes to fill, think that's a lot of pressure for a guy we want to have a good year as a top 6 winger let alone a #1 center.

I'm not cool with moving Grabovski though. Would be another role we'd have to fill and I don't think it would be from within, except for maybe Colborne.

I don't know man, look at what Kessel and Lupul put up in points and Bozak could only muster 47 points? He is decent on face-offs, but he's pretty mediocre defensively and doesn't really have size. Just not seeing him ever be that guy. Possibly a #2, a good #3 if his D game improves.

In my view, why wouldn't you try JVR at centre, at least try it? Why not? It's not like you have to play him there permanently if it doesn't work out. It could be a real boost to their top six, I think JVR makes a Kessel/Lupul line more dangerous than Bozak, if and big if JVR can win faceoffs. JVR's big, but he's also fast and can skate with Kessel. That line has potential to be a pain in the balls to play against. If it doesn't work it's not like lines don't scrambled, may as well fire it up and see what happens.

Meh, it happens. That is the beast that is Twitter. My point still stands. Really, the only untouchables for me on our roster are Kessel, and Gardiner. Even Kessel has a price for me. But ANYONE else, Leaf/Marlie/Prospect/etc. should be available for the right player.

I'd consider moving Kessel if I knew we were getting Ryan in exchange: another goal scorer, but some size/grit. Seeing Kessel's league-low number of hits this morning kind of bummed me out. Not that I was expecting Clutterbuck numbers, but 12 hits in 82 games? No one's even near that.

Back to the centre note... how about centre by commitee? Everyone gets a chance, like a rotation of 5 or so games per. Even Kadri. Maybe Conny and Lombo will try harder. I don't know. It's an idea.

I don't get where this "why doesn't he just go out and get a #1 center?" attitude comes from. If it was that easy, we'd already have one. I'm a fan of getting a legit #1 center too. I'm a fan of getting a legit #1 golie, I'm a fan of making the playoffs, and I'm a fan of winning the Stanley Cup. That doesn't mean that any of this is going to happen. As of right now, it looks like we're not getting that legit #1 center so it's on to plan B.

I hope Sundin plays in the outdoor alumni game! I hope they're saving that as the last announcement, you know they'll build up to that with names for both teams. They do have two separate games to play, a lot of players.

It's going to be bad-ass man, these hardcore alumni games are pretty cool, I saw Detroit vs. Toronto a few years ago at Ricoh and it was awesome, you had Vaive, Leeman on D all night, Ciccarelli, Zezel, freaking Marcel Dionne who was the best player on the ice, Probert, all kinds of guys. Dionne mock-jerseyed a guy and started pretending to fill him in at the final buzzer. I witnessed Dionne taking a penalty shot on Joe Bowen, who called the game from the bench for two periods and then went in net. Dionne deked him senseless, it was awesome.

This one is going to have so many guys it's going to be like Marvel Universe or something, it'll be hilarious. Stevie Y kind of has to play in this, doesn't he?
