Why would he? They have Schneider and Lack. Unless he's looking to trade Schneider in two years when Markstrom is ready to be a starter.

As odd as it seems, they would be more likely to take Theodore to ensure they have a veteran back-up in case Schneider has trouble. That and the fact that the Panthers already signed Clemmensen to be a back-up.

If FLA gets Luongo, they need to move Theodore; he'd be decent insurance for Reimer/Scrivens.

I'd like to stick with those two, see what we have, and more than likely draft high again next year, but I don't think that's going to happen.

You don't see Markstrom going to VAN? That's kind of what I was thinking: 1a/b tandem, Lack in the wings; last man standing. Would probably sweeten the deal and allow FLA to deal from a position of strength vs. giving up another young prospect that VAN is surely asking for.

Why would the Canucks take Markstrom, a future prospect, when they see themselves as a contender? Schneider needs a veteran back-up so Theodore makes more sense than Markstrom does. Having both Lack and Markstrom doesn't make much sense for the Canucks.

Perhaps, it all depends on whether FLA is willing to give up another good prospect and have a glut of goaltenders (Luongo, Markstrom, Clemmensen). Markstrom might fetch a nice return on his own, but they'll probably wait and see how much Bernier nets the Kings.
