I know take this with a grain of salt, but didn't Gillis say he won't take a bad contract in return? - celata29
Gillis says a lot of things... he says they are ok going with Luongo and Schneider if the right deal doesn't come along.
ya (frank)ing sure you are Gillis. Good luck with that one. Meanwhile Luongo's on TV saying he's done in Vancouver and it's time to move on.
Gillis's hands get more tied the longer this goes. He could end up having to take Komi, Connolly and a 2nd just to get rid of him |

If Kadri wants to be one of the top centres int he League he needs to get his ass of Tiwtter and get it into the gym for 6+ hours a day this offseason. - mfreedman

I hate those types of assholes who have zero regard for anyone or anything around them.
My suggestion:
1. A full tank of gas in your car
2. Buy a length of hose
3. Connect hose to exhaust pipe
4. Feed other end of hose into their apartment
5. Turn car on
6. Problem solved - As_I_See_It
Yeah, probably not a good idea. It'll end up seeping up into our apartment, so I don't want that. Plus, they WILL be out soon.
Except this Saturday they're planning a "big party". We won't be here Saturday night, but I'm sort of afraid for our apartment. Although, it's likely that SOMEONE will end up calling the cops on them. Most of their friends are all underage and smoke pot. So if they have as many people as they expect it will be loud and disruptive. If someone calls the cops and they tell the cops there's underage drinking and drugs, they're going to get in a lot of trouble.
I tried to be nice and warn them by saying "look, we won't be here to call the cops, but if someone else does and they find out most of your friends are under age they'll get arrested".
they responded with "they won't arrest that many people". I said "true, but they can arrest or fine you BIG TIME for allowing it on YOUR property. Plus if someone leaves after drinking and something happens, you'll be responsible".
But they don't seem to care, they're throwing the party anyway. So we'll see what happens. |

Bernier has the higher pedigree. Both uproven I know, but Bernier was an 11th overall pick. He has the potential. - faceto27
They all have potential. 11th overall, yea fine... Let's look at some of the top goalies int he game:
Thomas - Undrafted
Rinne - 8th round
Quick - 3rd round
Lunqvist - 7th round
Halak - 9th round
Goalies are so hard to judge, and an 11th overall pick doesnt give me that much confidence. |

This is so wrong.
There is no reason to make a "desperation" trade, whatever that means to you. If Burke trades for a legitimate first-line center I wouldn't call that a desperate decision. It's a need that must be filled sooner rather than later. If the opportunity arises, Burke would likely make a trade to improve the club. - A_Tree
Agreed. Burke said "July 1st is our draft" exactly twice, the two years we didn't have 1st round picks. What else is he going to say? That's exactly the kind of response you get from Burke.
He's also said several times, "July 1st and the trade deadline is where we (GMs) make the most mistakes... have a poor track record".
Does that mean that Burke will or will not make any July 1st deals again? Not at all, he's just playing up to the media, giving them what they want: Burke sound bites.
People need to stop taking everything the guy says so literally (he's entitled to rhetoric like every politician I've ever listened) in front of the cameras. He's a big blowhard, he loves the limelight, that's just who he is. I find it highly entertaining (kind of like, you know, exactly what professional sports is) and enjoy watching his pressers; I'm also smart enough to know that I don't have to take everything he says at face value all the time either.
To me, his actions speak loudest: for the debatable mistakes (Kessel, bad UFA signings) there's a ton of good (organizational improvements top-to-bottom); he's also learned from his mistakes (like keeping his draft picks and not shelling out stupid money at FA; even Connolly was only a two year deal. Could've easily been a Leino deal). |

and you know what, that's a good thing.
Lot of people don't like him cause he's cocky - I love that about him. He just needs to back it up... and you get the feeling he will. - Big_Lightnin
bingo, and i know he's cocky and i like that about him, but he's also confident in himself and sometimes that confidence you put in yourself puts you over the hump. He has the tools to be a very good NHLer, just needs to prove it now, and i think he will, i just hope its with the leafs |

Yeah, I know. The 2 that live there are 21. 1 is respectful for the most part, 1 not even close. I'm only 24 and wouldn't dream of being as ignorant or disrespectful. I mean, it's an apartment building, not your own house. Other people are affected by noise created, but it doesn't seem to matter. |

I really don't see Burke trading him before they actually give him a long look, and this is the year. Unless it's in a deal for Getzlaf or something. Kadri was his 1st pick, and the way Eakins is talking about him, they know he's got the talent to be a big time player, just a matter of getting the physique for it. |

Call the cops in advance.
Inform your super and landlord that the building will likely suffer some damage.
Take pictures of your stuff before you leave.
