There would be and I'm sure there is, but not too many team want to add 3 - 5 million dollars of crappy bottom 6 depth.

I know.

Still, guys like Prust are making crazy dough; Lombardi's 3.5M doesn't look terrible considering UFA prices... who am I kidding.

Prust received more money because the Habs REALLY needed a player like him.

Hopefully Armstrololong doesn't get injured and becomes a bargain but that's far from being a sure thing.

That'd be the case if he actually played a game..... I think his value is just high right now.

or just clog up more roster spots that could be used to have guys like frattin and kadri get NHL ice time.
- Dozzer

With guys like Connololololly and Lolololombardi still in the line-up, JVR possibly moving to C, a couple prospects might still need a little time OR might not pan-out and the inevitability of injuries, adding these types of guy for depth (with the possibility of high reward) and also providing Burke with a little more flexibility for just makes sense for what they cost.

Let me guess, you were saying the same thing when Lupul arrived, right?

You'd have to think one of our goalies as a back up. Maybe a roster D, and a prospect, andor pick.

Sigh, another "why doesn't Burke DO SOMETHING?!!?" post.

What UFA would you like him to sign? Of that (very) short list (should be a list of zero, but...), who do you think will produce "results"?

What trade for a number one center would you like him to pull off? There's just so many out there, can't imagine it's easy deciding on which one to land.

How about goaltending? What number one goalies are out there, available, and ready to be traded for?

- gravyface

Well, know this.
Burke, by his own doing will now have to pull off a big trade...and it will have to be trade where the leafs overpay.
Too many times Burke has said that July 1st is our draft blah blah blah....too many times he has said, we will make a deal blah blah blah.
So its already a giving, he'll make a desperation trade just because he has to.
There's no way he can back out of it now and every other GM in the league knows this.
Unless.....
He does a 360 and says "our intention is to not the make the playoffs", if and only if he says that, will he not have to make a trade.
Because right now with Reimer and Scrivens as a back up.....we are not making the playoffs.
So I look forward to either the desperation trade or the 360...which one do you think will happen first?

Since I honestly believe Kadri's value will only continue to drop.... I'd try and include him as the main piece of a trade for Bernier.

But that's just an opinion.

I hope this guy can put up similar NHL numbers as he did in the AHL last year. Not this year but in the near future.

I'm assuming we're talking about Bernier...too lazy to look back, but I would definitely give up a first for Bernier. Although the Leafs fanbase seems to have faith in Riemer, if you get Bernier you know you atleast have one good goalie and if Riemer pans out than a solid tandem. I would pull the trigger if that is the asking price. Burke is never afraid to trade 1st rounders why stop now?

They are asking for way too much for him. They want more than what the Preds got for Lindback. They want a first and decent prospect.

They may get that from the Hawks...... Burke is not going to give that up for an uproven goalie. We already have two of our own.

Well Bernier's been in the league for a while.... let's just say he's demonstrated more than Reimer or Scrivens wouldn't you agree?

Prust will definitely add some grit to your bottom six. Contract's way too long for a banger though. Armstrong, you'll be lucky if he plays 50 games. He was never a big guy, kind of lanky actually; did a decent job playing a possession game when you need to eat minutes.
