I highly doubt that. Loiselle said somewhere a few days ago that they fully expect to resign Franson.

This may sound like the same song and dance, but I'm very optimistic about our defensive prospects. We have a decent group of current roster "locks" and the young guys competing for some of those "locks" should make for an interesting season!

Luongo- only for cheap, real cheap. no more than macarthur/bozak/lower ranked prospect and a salary dump

Theodore - If Florida takes Luongo

Backstrom- UFA next year, if Minny wants to give Harding the #1 job and don't want to lose Backstrom to free agency or pay him this year

Giguere- We should have resigned him for cheap in the first place to mentor Reimer.

Bishop- Not an upgrade whatsoever but I would feel more confident having 3 youngsters battle it out for the 1 spot than 2.

Lol let me defend myself to the trolls before I post this, I don't think any of these guys are "locks" to come play in T dot nor are they available. Just guys who I think would improve are current Goaltending situation.

As for our defense, yup, and the improved mobility is only going to help (that along with not pinching like crazy as Wilson had them do) us get back and cover.

I think the NHL is all about speed and transition and our team, for lacking physicality on the back end, makes up for it with good skaters across the board (save for Komi).

Should be interesting to see.
