JVR was not traded to the Leafs as their solution to upgrade their centers. Theyre just trying it out because, well, they have nothing better at the moment.
And who knows, maybe this is all posturing is because there's a potential center deal on the table and they're looking for leverage.

Wouldnt put it past them...but after 5 years straight of hearing "The Leafs may be adding X topline guy" and nothing happening...you tend to not expect much.
