So you honestly think that Read and Voracek for Ryan improves the club? - jak521
If it saves me my first in 2013...than yes i do. you pick up a winger and in 2/3 yrs when danny is to old you replace him with the pick |

Ill keep Voracek, Read, and my first... and still feel like I am winning by not making a deal to get Ryan. |

Your not going to get Perry or Getzlaff at the trade deadline cheaply. You will have to drastically overpay to get either player, who are top players in this League. - MJL
Have to also consider that there's a chance Anaheim resigns those players during the season as well and don't even become available at all. |

At this point, the re-signing of Voracek is paramount.
Throw a few offers out to the remaining free agents (Doan, 1-year offer to Semin). If they don't bite, which is the overwhelming probability, then gear up for the season.
Hartnell - G - Voracek
Schenn - Briere - Simmonds
Rusty - Couts - Read
Rinaldo - Max - Wellwood
Big Tom
- BoomGoesTheCoburn
I really like the look of that second line. Give Danny some bigger wingers with some nastiness, that go to the net and create havoc. Open up a bit of room for him near the circles, let him snipe 30 again. I am in favour of this lineup to start the season, but wouldn't be against Ryan for the right pieces, or even Semin on a short-term deal. |

DO IT HOMER
Hartnell - G - Ryan
Schenn - Briere - Simmonds
Rusty - Couts - Talbot
Sestito- ?????- Wellwood - Philly1980
Others have mentioned, but Dominic Moore perhaps? I like how Talbot and Coots play together, wouldn't mind bumping him up to his wing. |

If Read or Simmonds is the the asking price for Morrow, I calmly say no thank you to the Dallas GM, hang up the phone, and move on. - MBFlyerfan

Definitely. Honestly, I'd love to see either player in the Orange and Black. Of course, if there is a chance you can snag them on July 1st for a wad of cash, then you go that route. |

No one will be offered a contract out of this camp but a couple undrafted players may earn invites to training camp in September.
Among the undrafted guys who are there this week, Clapperton and Hamonic are the ones who really looks like they may have pro caliber skill -- but it's hard to tell until they at least have the two scrimmages this weekend.
My concern with Clapperton is that he is smaller than even his listed 5-foot-9. When you see him walking around after the on-ice sessions, he looks like he's about 12 years old both facially and physically. If he's 5-foot-9, it's with his skates on. But he sure can dart around with the puck on his stick and it's clear he has good hands.
Hamonic is already fairly mature physically despite being 18 years old. When they do drills where players jockey for position with defensemen in front of the net, Hamonic can pretty much clear the porch at will against some of the less physically mature kids. (BTW you should see the mismatches against Oliver Lauridsen --- that's a bit of a reality check for some of these kids). - bmeltzer
when will olly become the next chara?

Especially considering he's in all probability going to sign in Philly at the expiration of his current deal right when he's smack in the middle of his prime... and right when Danny B comes off the books, too. |

so you'd rather trade proven assets to keep an unproven one that likely wouldn't contribute for years? |

Does that deal make your team better or worse? |

Are you prepared to give up Schenn, Couturier, or Voracek to get Perry or Getzlaff? Otherwise, what do the Flyers have to offer Anaheim for those players? - MJL
NEVER SAY NEVER. Maybe we can find a sucker for our crap.
Every time Pittsburgh Penguins general manager Ray Shero analyzed his team, he came to the same conclusion: A huge missing piece was a forward talented enough to play on Sidney Crosby's line.
Shero took a major gamble to add that player, acquiring All-Star forward Marian Hossa from the Atlanta Thrashers in a deadline deal Tuesday that cost Pittsburgh two young forwards in Colby Armstrong and Eric Christensen, a top prospect and a first-round draft pick.

I just thinks this makes the team more balanced. talbot has shown he can be a good third line guy. I dont want to see him wasted on the fourth line. Get a good fourth line center/faceoff guy....I know im going to get flack for the read/voracek for ryan. |

I personally think that Briere should have Voracek on his Wing. I think Briere needs a playmaker with him, that can carry the puck and get the puck to Briere. |

I'm not going to rip your opinion. You have the right to think that way. I'm just curious as to why you think that makes the team better.
1.Read, Voracek for Ryan
2.Read, 1st, prospect for Ryan
3.Voracek, 1st , prospect for Ryan
Just trying to figure out why you would do option 1 (not saying Anaheim would accept). |

That is an intriguing combination. Jagr and Briere complimented each other well, and Voracek has similar attributes. Who would you put with Giroux? Schenn? |

I dont think 2 or 3 gets it done. my choice if either of the three would work is to do #2 and trade voracek in a deal for a defenseman |
