I liked Mueller, but I wonder if the organization believes the depth chart at forward is pretty solid with Cousins and Akeson. I think the Flyers would trade for Ryan if it was Voracek + MAB or Gus + draft pick. I just can't see them parting with Read in a Ryan deal because of the cap hit combined with the production. - ravishingone
If Mueller can achieve the potentila he's shown flashes of, he's vastly better than Akeson. Cousins projects as a third line agitator who will annoy and score 15 goals |

Ah yes, the great word "if". I still think the main target is Ryan, that is probably the main reason they didn't want to take on additional salary . |

I do as well, and I'm ok with that, so long as they do not overpay. |

Mueller's a poor skater with a concussion history... dicey combination. |

Trade for Ryan, see how the d core shakes out throughout the regular season with guys like Meszy and Schenn stepping up. If need be, move assets at the trade deadline to improve the blue line if necessary.
You going to the scrimmage this weekend? |

Nobody's interested in Arnott for, say, 4.5 for two years? - 77rams
His game is hanging on by a thread, and I'm thinking he wouldn't want to sign somewhere knowing he'd be the 4th-line C. |

The other thing is, he's never shown consistency, even before the injuries. He had a good rookie year, 54 points in 81 games, but that production dropped to 36 in 71 the next year, and the next year, he managed 37 in 69 games.
The subpar skating is part of that, but even when he was healthy he never really managed to build off the encouraging rookie year. |

Depends on the price for Ryan. I'm perfectly content to start the year as is.
I plan on going Sunday. Might meet some others folks there. Pretty sure nastyflyergirl will be there. |

Actually 2 wasn't that bad, but based on how much I loved the first one, I expected more. |

Like Hangover 3...no need for it. No need for two really, although I'm happy Iron Mike got a paycheck |

Maybe a couple of steps behind where he used to be, but a 17 goal and a plus 13 last year says to me he can still keep up. Decent on face offs.
What line he'd play on would be an issue.

Would anyone be interested in acquiring Ryan while not parting with Jake? Some combo of Read, prospects, picks, and maybe a d-man?
Hartnell-G-Ryan and Simmonds-Briere-Voracek look mighty nice as our top 2 lines. Schenn-Coots-Feds, Wellwood-Talbot-Rinaldo/Sestito.... meh? |

Like schenn on line 2
Harts. G. Ryan
Schenn briere chek
Talbot. Coots. Simmonds
Wellwood rusty and rinaldo
I would do that deal yesterday. Ryan may be a top 50 player in the league (according to some). Read is not. |

22 of those 54 points were on the PP, when he was manning the point on their top PP unit and leading all their forwards in PP icetime. Unless he's going to be given that kind of role in Florida, he'll be hard pressed to come even close to his rookie season numbers, because he's often a non-factor 5v5. |
