If I said yes, I would be banned for sure.
So instead, If you ask me the question if I'm a fat man in a box, maybe I'm just fat. Or, maybe just a man in a box. |

Those numbers were for a Giroux extension.
I realize Weber will cost $100+ mill in FA. - LordStanley88

And Giroux won't give us a slight discount? Why not? - LordStanley88
I dont know what Giroux will do. Maybe he does if they sign him to a long-term contract. |

Even for Weber, it's a staunch no. Giroux isn't going anywhere, and you'd be on crack to think otherwise. - LordStanley88
I'm not arguing for or against just saying both sides have some Validity. Me I'd have to lean towards no. He's my son's favorite player I don't feel like dealing with a pissed of 6 y/o on top of my twins in their terrible two's.
From my lips to God's ears I never said one thing about who to pick as their favorite Flyer in my house. When we all went to a game this past season, My sister asked my son who his favorite Flyer is. My son without a thought replies "28". I don't use numbers when referring to players and if he asked me who my fav is I'd say Hartnell. Funny how kids pick up things. |

As much as I love Weber there is no way I could give all that up for him. Hes one player that will have a high cap hit. Your team would be shredded if you made that deal of Schenn, Couturier, Read, Voracek, Mez and 3 1st rounders. Thats a big time overpayment IMO. - stveshdy
Maybe I got carried away but I'd give up Schenn, Couts and one of the other 3 for Weber plus a pick or two. |
|

For Weber, I wouldn't be shocked if he got 13-14 years at $120 mill on the open market. |

I don't feel as though both sides have validity. You don't trade young franchise players, especially one that is, IMO, a top 5 player in the league.
Weber may be that too, but he's only available because he's a soon-to-be UFA on a small market team. |

see I don't like giving up multiple roster players plus picks for one guy. One hit and that's a career. I know Weber is great but geez look what we gave up for Pronger and it's kinda squandered due to an innocent stick to the face. |

Thats a big time offer and I can see the Flyers offering that deal during free agency. |

While that's all true, if he landed in a major franchise I think he'd become a longtime Free agent. Like i said, I wouldn't do the trade but if Homer was willing, I'd feel like it was JVR for Schenn again this time with much higher stakes. |

Biggest competition will likely be Detroit. |

That's not necessarily true because he did help us get to the Cup in '10. It's not the ultimate prize but have Sbisa, Lupul, John Moore and Emerson Etem done that much worth missing? |

I'm sure with the nature of discussion concerning the loss of Matt Carle, and the supposed need of a topline winger we could use Sbisa and Lupul right about now. Even if that hit never happened, Pronger would be an aging Player and we'd still be looking for a cup. |

The realistic attribute is a whole other discussion. Who knows what goes on in these talks between Gullible Men er I mean General Managers. |

I don't foresee NY, LA, etc. pursuing him given their needs and current roster. Things could always change though. |

Really? So the team that trades for him is going to lock him up long-term?
After watching what Suter got I dont see how he doesnt test the market unless the team that trades for him gives him the 12-14 yr, 126M contract. |

Watch him stay in Nashville for 10 years anyway wouldn't that be some poop. |
