that means it's a fair deal i think - aightwebang17
Lets put it this way... Weber might be the only guy I would do that for |

I have to be honest I pondered it myself. - JoeRussomanno
I would probably do that deal. Giroux is young, but we have Briere, Schenn and Coots to play center right now. I would try to keep Weber, Coby, Mez, and Grossmann, in that order, for as long as possible.
We would have the need for more wingers - but they are easier to find.
JMIO
This assumes we could sign Weber long term.

hey, did you ever get banned before? - JoeRussomanno
I believe you are being sarcastic, which is fine.
To answer, yes.
I would say I have been warned a lot more though. "Don't ever do that again" and "do you need reading classes". Maybe a "what are you stupid" or along those lines.
My charm and wit has unfortunately drawn the ire of 4 different refs.

I would say your pretty lucky to get warnings. They could just lay the hammer down on the ban. |

That's all well and good but the constant reminders of your ban history makes me think of this image

if you're the preds you might do it because you get three years of claude before UFA. if you're the flyers, i would not since you're only guaranteed one year of weber. |

There's no question that Giroux is an elite player in the NHL. I think a lot would depend on the contract and money. Also would depend on how you believe a team should be built. People who value defense more would probably do that deal. |

It was all fair. I should get some reading comprehension classes. But sometimes we all type these things quickly and a joke turns into something else.
Also, things are taken literally that shouldn't be, such as "trading our crap for another player".

Lets say Weber was willing to sign a long-term extension. |

Nice. You could even extend the metaphor to sour grapes, beyond the whine and cheese.

I also apologize for the repetitive nature of my comments. Guess I am on an island on this one.
Other than the 3,200 trade proposals for Nash, Weber, and Ryan that is! |

Still a reallll tough pill to swallow.
I look at it like this.. Claude Giroux makes everybody on the ice better when he is out there. Does Weber do that? Weber is the premier d-man in the NHL, and might be the best total d-man, all around (offense, defense, nastiness, leadership, etc) since Pronger was in his prime... BUT, idk...
I think I keep G... |

I would be willing to trade any other player on the roster for Weber but thats just me. The Giroux for Weber proposal is a tough one and I would need more time to think about it before making a decision. |

The only saving grace in that trade would be the ability to plug Schenn and Couts in @1-2, and that come UFA you would have a much easier time finding a top line guy than a franchise d-man.

Just for argument's sake, you think a guy that pushes the play up-ice with the majority of his shifts starting in his own end against top competition isn't making everybody on the ice better? |

I would not trade Giroux for Weber. Giroux is a special player among special players and is a steal at his current contract. Weber is a top 5 d-man, I know, but without Giroux I think this offense would flounder.
Besides it would totally ruin my SN. |
