So is Jean-Paul Parise.

It's part of the apology for Zach not signing with the Leafs.

- Two_For_Truth

Apparently Zach has requested that his name be pronounced "par-easy" from now on, to acknowledge his American heritage.

I know we've kind of moved on from the alcohol stuff but just wanted to say rum is good too. My fav is Appletons, Jamaican man. Good stuff. Went to the factory on my honeymoon. So. Much. Rum.

It doesn't excuse his ignorance, but honestly, how many people on this site are old enough to remember seeing him play?

He retired 4 years before I was born

Even someone born in the late 70's would have little recollection of his time in the NHL.

I remember Palmateer....and I drank at his bar in Aurora

Havana Club, all the way.

Or, if you like spiced rum: Kraken.

I remember part of the defense being that they didn't take his blood alcohol until they got to the station, and that resulted in inaccurate readings.

With a defense like that, it's obvious he got off because of who he was.

firstly, I hope he was being facetious.
secondly, any leaf fan who doesn't know of 'palmateer' should be escourted to a ditch and beaten unmercifully.

...on another note, Kevin Maguire????

He went to the same junior high school I did (but waaaaaaaay before me).

His brother was my baseball coach.

I used to eat at the little hamburger joint he owned - called "Palmy's"

And here's a great bit of trivia - he was once in a commercial for a motor oil. The gist of the commercial was the oil would protect your car - so they had a goalie in front of the car, stopping pucks. At the end of the commercial, the goalie whipped off his mask, and it was Palmy.

But for the shots of the goalie making saves, they got a stunt double - the goalie from St. Mike's. That goalie was Sean Burke. But because Palmy was a lefty, they had to reverse the film.

If I recall correctly, the goalie was dressed all in black, with maybe a bit of gold. Maybe to match the motor oil can?

Back in those days, Ballard controlled the Leafs logo with an iron fist. No way the oil company would get to use a Leafs jersey (or would have paid a jillion dollars to do it).

I keep seeing that Kraken stuff at the LCBO and want to buy it every time...but it looks pretty dark. I like white and the golden colour rums...not a fan of the super, super dark/black rums. But if it isn't too expensive maybe I'll pick it up when my current rum supply runs low.

I just like the bottle/label:
