Yea, a bit surprised.

No surprise with Palmateer though-- he's an MLSE employee. One of the Leafs scouts, actually.

This is a quick clip of Mats showing clear interest: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SPeZgjjqAI

Interesting choice given his recent troubles.

Well at the announcement they stated there will be TWO games because there are too many good players for Leafs/Wings stuff.

Well don't move there, move near there lol.
- wolfos412

Yes, move just south of there, in Prince Edward County. It's a great place. Trenton, however, is not a great place to buy a house. By the way, it's closer to 4 hours from London, Ontario.

What about Langkow, not a bad option for a centerman. I think he almost needs a change of scenery. Probably a bargain too, leaving lots of cap for a fat goalie contract.
- Bluenwhite1980

Wow ... Maybe Shawn Horcoff would work too. He's awesome compared to Langkow

...Mike Palmateer...
- Brian Huddle

I'm guessing he was joking.

Hard to imagine he knows who Bester is (and is upset that he didn't make the team) but doesn't know who Palmy is.

The Kevin Maguire choice is the most puzzling. If you're going to have a goon on the team, why not do a classic one like Tiger Williams or Tie Domi? Maguire did nothing as a player, stupidly fought a 19 year old Wendel Clark in practice who knocked him out, and has recently tried to get a second NHL team in Toronto. Why do they want this guy playing?

Really? Two games? The Red Wings might be able to make two worthy teams but the Leafs alumni pool might become a little shallow after one.

Think they will have Wendel line up against Probert? Wouldn't that be awesome?

Yeah, I know. Seriously, don't write it.

I think it would awesome if they dropped the gloves and then shook hands.

Then fought.

I'm guessing a lot of Leafs from those late 90's runs will come onto the team and people will be like "man you got some terrible alumni", but whatevs.

Guys like Domi and such.

One quality team should be enough for both sides. Most of the guys are well into their 40s and 50s so if they have more guys than normal, it'll probably still work out. Roll 6 lines. Two games seems more like a money grab.

Where is Salming? That guy looks like he could still play.

Kinda like the closing of the Gardens.

When one of the first guys to walk out and wave was Fred Boimstruck, I knew the ceremonies were going to drag...

No money grab. One ticket gets you into both, apparently.

Salming will probably (hopefully?) be involved. Still got lots of time.
