I'm going to spend 70K on pot lighting for my house renovation.

Please kill me now.

- Atomic Wedgie

Woah Woah buddy, that seems silly. My brother was an electrician before he became a mechanic and put pot lights in all the time. Where do you live, I'm sure he'll charge a hell of a lot less than 70k!!!

All you need is a job....not a high paying one, just a fulltime job and you can own your own house....but it also depends on the kind of lifestyle you want to have...it's obviously more simple and rural in Atlantic Canada compared to GTA...not that there isn't any cities close by, but it is a total change from GTA...I'm 2 hrs from Moncton, 3 hrs from Fredericton, 4hrs from Charlottetown and Saint John, 5 hrs from Halifax and Quebec City, 8 hrs from the Montreal tunnel and 14 hrs from GTA...but the nearest airport is 10 mins away that flies Air Canada to Montreal, then on to anywhere..as well as Via Rail

We bought a house last year. Really nice, typical split level, 3 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms, nice deck, double garage big ish garden. $208,000. Can't imagine you guys would get much for that in Ontario. On the flip side, i want to kill myself between December and April each year. Plus, i can't buy any clothes (other than Old Navy) CD's/DVD's or watch decent hockey (PEI Rocket).

P.S. Do you know who i miss? John Pohl.

Hey man, move to Belleville or Trenton Ontario. Couple hours down the 401 from London and has Canadas biggest Air base, you could apply to some goverment job on the base because you speak french and that is HUGE over there. Great money and a government job you know will have great benefits etc etc... I live about 15 minutes away from there.

Even try somewhere like Picton. Quiet town, near to Belleville and Trenton, not far from Kingston and right in the heart of Prince Edward county... beautiful place with good wines

Yeah, I was actually kidding.

I went on a pot lighting rant yesterday.

Let's just forget this whole thing.

Moving on....

Finch East in Scarborough isn't exactly Beverly Hills either.
- Atomic Wedgie

Operative word there: Scarborough. You can roll a turd in glitter, but it's still a turd.

Sidenote... how cool would it be to meet somebody called Beverly Hills? Makes me think of a mid-50s waitress working at a greasy spoon cafe...

How can I put this politely?

Picton is a little too small and quiet for me.

More of a place to move to when you retire.

For now, I'll just visit in the summer.

I've lived in the Quinte Area for 25 years and I've never been bored. To each their own I guess.

You shouldn't assume I have a huge house.

But assuming I'm drunk? Yeah, that's pretty accurate.

I could live in Kingston.

Anything smaller, and I'd go Unibomber.

People in big cities I guess just can't get used to having to walk on sidewalks with just a few people rather than 1.2 million. They like the Sardine feeling.
