I just don't sense that Nash has a burning desire to win. - Atomic Wedgie
signing long term in columbus either proves that statement OR he is a horrible judge of talent both with the players on the ice and the management team. |

he is NOT a leader.
if I'm spending 8 mill a season, I want either ELITE talent or an exceptional leader.
Nash is neither. |

A conditional offer - you guys who aren't in Toronto are so cute.
In Toronto, a conditional offer is that we agree to give you more money than we can possibly afford, but we are willing to increase that if you make a frowny face. - Atomic Wedgie
. Quick question for you, and it may be stupid so i apologise. Are there any areas within 30 mins of downtown that are relatively affordable house price wise? I don't need it to be amazing, but decent clean houses, nice area. My GF's sister and bro in law live in Roncevalles (Sp?). I wanna move there but so expensive. What neighbourhoods should i look at? Cheers man. Like stuff under half a mil, even less? |

And I know this is going to over like a bad fart at a baby shower, but it also sounds like Sundin.
I always felt that Sundin would have been better off if he wasn't the captain and go-to guy. If he could have been just left alone to do his job.
Like Forsberg in Colorado. |

he's the perfect player to put beside someone like say crosby, or malkin
has the skill level to keep up with the superstars but he's not a true superstar himself...
just how i see him personally |

There were a few playoff series where Sundin layed it all on the line. Especially against Ottawa. |

because the only time he has ever thrived was on teams stocked up on leaders
team canada: huge amounts of leadership
europe: played with guys like thornton
whenever he wasnt surrounded by one or two guys of that ilk, his team didnt succeed... its pretty damn obvious |

Burke is caught in a tight spot right now. on one hand he knows that this team desperately needs more of a verteran presence, to balance out the roster.....on the other hand the time is now to give youngsters Kadri /Frattin a season long shot to be on the team to take their developement to the next level.
Time to trade a bunch of moving parts for an elite talant. Not such asn easy job as we have seen so far. |

Not a stupid question at all. But unfortunately, not a quick question.
Funny thing about Toronto - a lot of the neighbourhoods are gentrifying - for that very reason. Young couples who make decent salaries can't afford good homes in good neighbourhoods, so they are moving into areas that you previously wouldn't ever consider. And it is making the neighbourhoods much nicer. Leslieville used to be cheap, but now it is expensive. Roncesvalles is definitely up and coming. Parkdale used to be known for crack, but because it is so close to High Park, it is now gentrifying.
And "30 minutes from downtown" is a bit vague for Toronto. My parents live 20 minutes from downtown when there isn't traffic. But when there is traffic, you can at least double that.
And one other thing - it really depends on what kind of house you are looking for. 3 bedrooms, one bathroom? Or more suburban living?
What I suggest is you go on the Toronto Real Estate Board website and use their search engine to look at properties:
http://www.realtor.ca/
That might give you a better idea of what is realistic.
One other weird thing: most Torontonians don't realize it, but there is a real mental divide between east and west. Torontonians who live in the eastern side will tell you that the western side isn't as nice, and vice versa.
So if your GF's sister and bro-in-law tell you that you should only look in the west, take it with a grain of salt. You can be perfectly happy on either side. |

great players lead regardless of the roster.
he disappears for long stretches...you can go weeks without noticing he's even on the ice.
he appears disinterested.
my point it this: at 8 million a season I want elite talent and exceptional leadership.
he provides neither.
he is a very expensive comlimentary player who will excel when the pressure is off him and he can be a cog in the wheel. Put him Datsyuk, Crosby, Thornton and he'll regain his numbers. But he isn't what the Leafs need, we have enough complimentary players who don't want to put the team on their shoulders.
We need a leader. |

good ol london and our 10% unemployment rate - Dozzer
it reeaally is bad. And the worst part about it? That is actually really starting to irritate me?
All the comments so far have been:
- They really liked the place, very nice....but dont want to pay condo fees
- They may be putting in an offer, but arent sure about not having forced air
- The place is great, but they think the condo fees are a little high
- Loved the place, loved the size and the work done...but dont want to live in a condo
SO WTF ARE YOU LOOKING AT MY HOUSE WHEN YOU ALREADY KNEW WHAT THE CONDO FEES WERE AND THAT ITS NOT FORCED AIR......AHEAD OF TIME
...had to get that off my chest. |

If you go west of Roncesvalles more towards Etobicoke you'll definitely find houses under 500. Once you get in Toronto you'd be hard pressed.. Houses around 500 will be in bad neighborhoods or need a lot of work...
To let you know how ridiculous it is I live in a decent condo and it's around 500 |
