Really? They have $3mil space now and will gain $5.3mil when Lu is traded.
A team can exceed the cap during the offseason.
Plus we can trade Ballard and a bag of magic beans to Calgary to liberate his $4.2 mil cap hit. - Go Canucks
And who ever trades for lou will be sending some salary back as well.. |

Is ryan even THAT much better than Horton? I want to see how Ryan would do not playing with Getzlaf and Perry... kind of like how Penner did without them.
I think Ryan is a 25-30 goal guy... 60 points... doesn't deserve the world.
He probably will though.... whoever overpays for Nash (NYR) and whoever overpays for Ryan (Philly) they will end up regretting it. - kneughter
ryan barely plays with getzlaf and perry. do you even watch hockey, or did you stop when altanta got relocated? |

I still think, whoever gets either of them, at least at the current asking price, will regret it. You don't?
Not saying they're not good players. |

so you're saying the flames might win a game against them this year? will this be the year? - RealityChecker
I'll just assume you are getting really old...because the Flames beat the Canucks 3 times last year...

no but really. columbus is trading away their franchise in nash. they have to get something of quality back. he is the team, captain, everything for them. a roster player, prospect, and 1st is a must for them. but they will pick some stupid player with the first anyway so it doesnt matter.
ryan is a top 6 forward. again he is overpriced. i think a top prospect and a 1st would be enough but someone would pay more than that. |

Haha...no chance the Canucks trade Luongo without taking a seriously bad contract back!!! |

Ralph Wiggum is a tremendous secondary character, although my all time favourite is Gil. |

I can see how its reasonable for a roster player, prospect, and 1st, but your proposal was two top six forwards, hell two first line players, a blue chip can't miss prospect defenseman, who many believe is a top 1 defenseman, a high prospect, and a first round. That's astronaumical no?
Edit: not to mention one of those first liners has a highly likely chance of becoming a franchise player. and the other scores as much as Nash, yes albeit on a better team. |

Time will tell. I will be surprised if Gillis takes back a "bad" contract. He could take a big contract back, but it won't be a bad contract.
But hey-If I'm wrong, I'll be the first to admit it. |

You really want to compare Nash and Stamkos? Stamkos is a much better player, especially because he is a center. That asking price is crazy high, even compared to reports of what howson is asking.
And Howson is making people believe they will have to overpay. That's why people are waiting for the price to drop, because Nash demanded a trade. His value automatically goes down, just business. |

What? Semin has interest in the Flyers? Doesn't every player? - KABLOOEY
but semin's interest is very strong. it started off slowly but it's very strong now. semin is almost about to burst with interest in the flyers. |

Obviously Howson would take this deal, but I'm asking do any of you believe this is how high the price really is:
Krejci, Hamilton, Insert Caron/Knight/Spooner, and a first.
I think even on Howson's terms that is shooting for Jupiter let alone the moon. |
