I'm sure Carey Price called his cousin to convince him to join the Habs.

But with all the "contreversy" of him insulting a french lineman that one time, I would stay the hell away from that bullpoop if I was him.

on top of which, doan probably wants to play on a team that will make the playoffs sometime in the near future.

Al...do you think the Hawks should overpay for Doan to get the physical presence they need with Toews??? Would also allow Kane to take 2C full time....
- Assman22

If going hard after Doan then logically they would have to be committed to Kane at center rather than right wing.

If I had a magic wand concerning the offense....I would get a left wing power forward with hands or...

A former #1 center that can play down a slot here and help produce more offense.

The Habs are not a contender, far from it.

But if a guy like Doan would join Plek on the 2nd line, I think we'd have enough to make it to the post-season.

They are as available as Kane is. They're not up for auction, but Dallas and Colorado will listen to offers I'm sure. I'd love Morrow, but will Dallas trade him to the Hawks and what will it take? Stalberg and Kruger?

Some will say that's an overpay by the Hawks, but I'm not sure that's going to excite Dallas too much either.

Yep....And E. Kane still unsigned??

If Morrow could play at least 70 games he would be a north/south player the Hawks need.

What makes everyone here so confident that this year's Doan will not turn into next year's Brunette?

Well unless he has to wear a 50 pound weight belt Doan should be a whole lot faster.

But after 35 years old...skill can diminish rather quickly.

Did you see what he did to the 'Hawks less than 3 months ago? I don't see him falling off a cliff physically. 670 The Score this morning (Rozner specifically) had a story about him competing against some physical fitness freak ... and won.

Markov and Gionta were injured most of the year also, both are back. Habs were 2nd in the league for game lost due to injury last year. Not a cup contender but with those guys back and Doan, Habs would be again a playoffs team IMO. D is still weak though

Wait I'm confused....yesterday JJ, you said there was a 10% chance the Hawks would get Doan and today they're BIG on Doan?
- Assman22

Saying the Hawks are "big" on Doan doesn't necessarily mean the odds improve, only suggests that the Hawks are throwing more money around.

for sure, if he sticks around, I hope he can go back to his 20+ goals seasons. Habs were a total mess last year after Xmas. Looks like he will play with Gionta and Plek this year, he better work his ass off, the other 2 will.
