I agree with the statement that they didn't back down from any battles and that they were never outworked. In todays NHL that what you have to do, if you don't hack, whack, clutch, grab, obstruct, hit after the whistle (Browns a master at this) you win an early exit and a reputation of being soft, a la canucks.
But to insinuate that they played clean is a gross overstatement. In my humble opinion Brown is the 2nd dirtest player in the NHL (Marchment and Chara share #1, 1a), but I would still welcome him on the canucks. Yes I know it's being hypocritical. - Makita
I think u meant marchand, but no matter.
Funny that its all players from the teams that beat you.
Coincidence? |

In today's NHL if you play clean you won't win the cup. Would love to see them call the game the same in tha playoffs and regular season. This will happen as soon as the Canucks build a team to win that is based more on grit than skill. - immature_male

LOL. Conspiracy is how ECF TB and BOS have a game 7 with 0 PIM.
Seemed to benefit one team more than the other. |

Coming from a fan who's team is fighting for a lottery pick every year.
At least you are honest with yourself and picked a name that fits. |

Guys, what would you think of a Heatley for Ballard/Rodin type trade?
Heatley is clearly on the downslide and Ballard was under-utilized....we need a top 6 player, Minny needs a second pairing dman......could work for both teams.... |

If we can't get Doan, do you try for Morrow?

Fantastic pickup, but considering our LWers are Sedin, Booth and Higgins....where do you fit Morrow? |

Just be glad we have a dedicated blogger. There are lots of people on this site screaming for more blogs about their team. I don't think Ian minds you critiquing his work but don't critique the person writing it. |

Why don't you post on Tessier's blog, then. If you have a problem with Ian, just PM him—it's pretty rude to badmouth him on a blog that he works hard to put out on a daily basis. Show a little class. |

Yeah, just like us its his opinion. At least he's not like a few of the bloggers around this site who claim to have inside soares. That every decent player is coming to their team. Nothing like a blogger who makes it all up. |

Don't think minny would wanna improve our firepower. I was thinking Heatley to NYR for Tim Ericson and a pick. Heatley to the pens for Martin and a 1st |

Ian has also stated numerous times that if any wants to write a blog he will post it on your behalf.
I do like how he has had a blog up daily for us to discuss, even when he might be grasping at straws for topics. I even like his trade friday blogs, and like that anytime I have suggested a blog idea he has been more than willing to do one on it.
I might not agree with his opinion, but I respest his right to have one. |

Anywhere he wants. Could even slide him down to 3rd line.
Higgins has shown he can play throughout the line up. Booth you could try with the twins again and put Burrows with Kesler (only person who has chemistry with him is Burr)
Sedin Sedin Booth
Burrows Kesler Morrow
Higgins Lappy Hansen

Heatley is a selfish piece of sh!t.
Don't see him being on Gillis' radar. |

Well said. It's gotta be tough to come up with ideas to write about each and every day. Look at the poop the Ek writes about. Ian does a way better job! |

Speaking of Eklund, I just left his blog after scanning through 4 pages of "Semin" jokes. Once again, I'm remindered why I only read Ian's blogs ( until they are hijacked by Leaf-Oiler-Sens trolls). |

Speaking of Eklund, for an insider with "sources", they don't seem to be talking to him too often as most of his blogs seem to be opinion pieces on how great players are and how great they'd fit into team x, y, or z. It was bad before but... |

Yup, I think he might know one or two decent sources but he is just way off about some teams and at times you know that he doesn't have much to talk about when he's just speculating or writing non-rumor blogs. |

That's been the status quo for years. One thing is for certain, he has no clue about the Canucks other than what he reads on TSN. |
