Yeah but you cant keep doing one year deals. The price is going to be rising every single year. It makes more sense to lock him up to a longer contract at that price.

Wasn't Giroux 22 or 23 when he signed last deal, last year (3.75M)? How in Voracek's right mind think he's going to get more than that? I would try and lock him up w/ same progression as Giroux (3.75) for 3 years and revisit if / when he plays like top 20 player in the league.

G didnt sign that last year... market value increases.
G was coming off of a 40somethign point season... followed it up with a very good playoff.
Voracek is coming off of 50, 46, 49 point seasons and followed this up with a very good playoff...
I wouldnt be shocked at all if he got a bit more than 3.75

Maybe because his agent thinks hes a top 20 player in this league. I dont see it. Voracek is a nice player but giving him more than 3.25 on a one year deal is an overpayment imo.
