I try to watch but I feel like an idiot trying to torture myself. The Phillies make it hard to watch this year. - stveshdy
Heh, I watched all 162 games from about 1979 or so up until 1994's strike. You want to talk dreadful, try the 1987 - 1992 Phillies.
I gave up on it after the strike and have unsuccessfully tried watching since.
Still, it seemed like every July or August they'd put together a 12- to 14-game winning streak somehow to get everyone dreaming of a .500 season only to return to earth.
I should have signed my son up for the 3-on-3 summer league just to have some hockey to watch (that isn't the NHL network's reruns of the playoffs).

I been watching the Phillies since I was alittle kid. They were so bad for awhile until they finally signed a big time player in Thome. That 1993 team was a miracle but they sure where fun to watch. All of those players were entertaining.
Yes i play hockey....Yes i know its hard when the puck is bouncing, but if im homer and im talking to voracek this is what im gonna say:
Kid you want the 4+ million dollar contract?
Than you gotta (frank)ing burry that...
its there job to do that. That was one example of voracek not putting it in out of many.... his 9.5 shooting percentage on a 190 shots is horrible. Sorry but thats the way i feel. Hes great secondline player, but doesnt deserve #1 line spot. - Philly1980
Paul Holmgren has played enough Hockey, and knows enough about the game, that he wouldn't make the statement that in the example you gave, that it should be buried 99/100 times.

You're blinded by Ryan's pure goal scoring stats. Voracek to me is the more valuable player of the two. More versatile, way better at playmaking, quarterbacking and puck possession. He's 2 years younger than Ryan and I believe hasn't fully matured to his potential. I'd be willing to do a 4 year at 5M per. Voracek is going to be one of the top 10 forwards in the league.

Today is jersey retirement day on NHLN. Yzerman's ceremony is on now.
