The similarities only lie with their teams and what happened to them. Francis was a skilled clean hockey player that was always a big scorer, mostly assists and was not known for his big hits. Doan is a bruiser, a true power forward but nowhere near the skill set of a Ronnie Francis. They are both great captains but there on ice performances are quite different. Now, what is this about Semin signing a one year in the Burg??

No comparison at all. Francis was a lot like the great Jean Beliveau in that he was a tremendously skilled hockey player and a great leader. Doan is a hard working physical force but Francis was an elite player and Doan is a good player. Hope I have cleared this up for Ek so he can start a new blog about Semin in the Burg!
