Rumors are swirling that Morrow out of Dallas may be available- that is a guy I would love on this team- he is younger than Doan, another western type guy who also has leadership, can hit, fight, can score etc... |

The difference is Whitney has birth defects which are never going to change.
Green hasn't had problems up until the last 2 years. - Pilgor09
The only problem is those problems that Green have are as bad as having birth defects. Not like concussions magically disappear. |

He might be younger than Doan, but Doan could very well last longer. He'd be an interesting piece, but I think it would be too rich for our blood, especially considering he only has one year left. |

Very true... it would cost alot and the term remaining with Morrow is not great... What do you think Doan is gonna get now that he is the biggest fish remaining? |

He's not untouchable, but this is a silly statement. That's just terrible asset management. Look at how long Phoenix held on to Turris, and what they got for him.
Now consider this list:
Patrick Sharp first 337 NHL games - 179 points
Henrik Sedin first 400 games- 221 points
Daniel Sedin first 397 games - 222 points
Stephen Weiss first 401 games- 224 points
Sam Gagner first 366 games - 220 points
Heck, he's not even that far off the pace that Kessel put up in his first 370 or so (245 points).
The fact that leafs fans seem ready to give up a 22 year old for nothing explains a lot. - Morris

If we add Doan that makes Prv expendable in a package for a top for d man.
I think if we went Prv,Petry, 1st rounder for Green and a 2nd it would be a good deal. - Pilgor09
All these bloody concussion cases...tough call man - even tougher with next year's 1st in that deal but you'd have to think that gets it done if in fact they want to dump him.
I wanted to take a flyer on Latendresse - when healthy he is EXACTLY what this team needs in the top six but he was a UFA and we didn't have to give up assets on that risk.

Well what is happening with the Yotes??? Last I recall sweet (frank) all... They will be re-located in the not so distant future so he should cut his losses and (frank) off to a team that has a good chance at the cup... IMO... - saskoil21
It's interesting because the league has probably lost so much on that team they could recover the costs if they let them fold and then go the expansion route to get back to 30 teams.
Dispersal draft and we get Yandle.
Done. |

Once you go ginger you'll never go back... LB will not be happy that his soul mate is having an emotional affair !! - Starbuck
That's not entirely true. We are more of an experimental race that others are merely just curious about. |

In two minutes: Weber, Bouwmeester, or Yandle- which most plausibly becomes an Oiler?

Now I like the way you think! 1st choice as we drafted 1st this year! maybe we should take OEL 1st then? |

You wanna know where Doan is going to sign? Two words and you're going to hate it.
Vancouver Canucks !!!!
Why do I think this?
- Doan wants to stay in Phoenix because it's his home.
- Did you know that Doan spends the offseason in Kelowna and trains with..... Shea Weber !!!!!!
- Doan is at the point of his career where he'll be chasing a ring not helping a rebuild. - Starbuck
No he doesn't spend his off season in Kelowna and even if he did that doesn't preclude other teams.
Currently he's in Edmonton for his sons hockey camp. OMG, that must mean he will sign in Edmonton.
Vancouver fans were convinced another player was signing with the Canucks and we saw how that turned out.
Detroit fans were convinced as was the media Suter was signing with the Wings. Wrong again. Until Doan signs no one knows where he's going.

I have to think if he goes long-term he's going to get 4-5 years around 4-5mil a year.
I do however think we could see him just take a one year deal looking for a cup. |

Well, I was trying to temper and hush the good luck a bit - didn't want to piss of the gods and such but yeah we'll pretty much win the dispersal draft and take OEL.
You know it's funny - even though the team could make that money back through expansion fees I bet they would just relocate; seems like better PR but I'm not sure.
The PHX fiasco keeps on spinning. |

No poop its time for it to end already... On a side note... It WAS a good decision to not allow Basillie to buy them- they would be bankrupt again! |
