Hall = Eberle + a 1st?

You don't watch the oilers.

- Morris

I think he means Kadri for Eberle and a 1st

Not that its needed as Eberle is the obvious choice and already has a healthy lead

Weird that TSN has him listed as a center???

- saskoil21

The most amazing thing about Eberle's numbers is the low ice-time.
As these guys start to get better against tougher opposition and they don't need to be sheltered as much look the (frank) out.

Could still be a few years away - but can't wait.

He's not untouchable, but this is a silly statement. That's just terrible asset management. Look at how long Phoenix held on to Turris, and what they got for him.

Now consider this list:
Patrick Sharp first 337 NHL games - 179 points
Henrik Sedin first 400 games- 221 points
Daniel Sedin first 397 games - 222 points
Stephen Weiss first 401 games- 224 points
Sam Gagner first 366 games - 220 points

Heck, he's not even that far off the pace that Kessel put up in his first 370 or so (245 points).

The fact that leafs fans seem ready to give up a 22 year old for nothing explains a lot.

- Morris

I've been defending Gagner for months now, and I'm 100% correct in doing so. Whoever belittles Gagner is either an idiot or a troll.

I just don't understand the 'bag of pucks' notion. If we're giving up on a guy that's 9 months older than Eberle, and has put up 220 points in the NHL, we might as well be giving up on Yakupov if he doesn't net 50 points this year. It's nonsensical.

It doesn't make any sense to me either... It's kind of amusing.

So what is the deal with Doan anyway? Why is he not signed yet? I am surprised he was not picked up on day 3 of UFA frenzy... if you call it that... 2As for Semin- he does not bring enough to what our needs are (size and grit) and he can not be placed with Smyth and Horcoff...

Well ya - he's under valued. period. I think it really comes down to his size sometimes but I firmly believe he will continue to get better and better. I see some 60+ point years for Gagner as he approaches his mid to late twenties.

He crests at 39th for centers in scoring. +5 last year is a nice litte stat.

He's tenacious - he has jam and as he gets older and stronger he'll be a lot harder to knock off the puck which of course seems to be his most glaring weakness; he's just not that hard to play against and the Oilers are going to need more then that I think.

He's waiting for the ownership issue to be solved before he makes his decision. I believe he wants to remain in PHX, but there's too much uncertainty of how that situation will play out.

Doan said last week he wouldn't sign til the 8th or 9th at the earliest. More than likely his last NHL deal and he wants to make the right choice. That and he could be waiting to see what is happening with the Yotes.

You have to think the Oilers will make a push for him and I suppose the selling feature would be that he would be the leader on a team ready to contend in 2-3 years. If he was on this team - that's a bona fide "turning the corner" moment.

But alas - little to no chance, I can't imagine Doan not wanting to go to a now contender.

I think they (Oilers) will and should make a push but he'll most likely end up in with VAN or NYR. Maybe even Boston.

If we add Doan that makes Prv expendable in a package for a top for d man.

I think if we went Prv,Petry, 1st rounder for Green and a 2nd it would be a good deal.

Well what is happening with the Yotes??? Last I recall sweet (frank) all... They will be re-located in the not so distant future so he should cut his losses and (frank) off to a team that has a good chance at the cup... IMO...

R u (frank)ing kidding me???? (frank)n Green is a band aide... the head case bandaide types.... We may as well throw in Eberle.... The Yandle proposal was way better than this... Green is way cheaper than Yandle... Green should be Hemsky, ++ Petry is cheap and if he continues to improve will be a Gilbert++ one that can skate, pass, put up pts, push back and hit....

Do you watch Washington play? He's an elite defenseman. Id argue he's better then Yandle when healthy.

And if you acquire Yandle you're more than likely going to have to give up one of the fantastic four. He won't be had for spare parts like some Oiler fans think.

The difference is Whitney has birth defects which are never going to change.

Green hasn't had problems up until the last 2 years.
