Totally know what you mean with Thomas...in the many, many times I've watched him play he irritates me.

I'm fully believe that when goalies come out of their crease, especially as far out as he comes, that they should be fair game and not able to freeze the puck if no part of their body is in the crease....frigging Thomas may as well freeze the puck at centre ice with how far he comes out.

That whole not going to the white house thing was his prerogative...I get that but he put his beliefs ahead of his team which ain't cool. He should've just went, put his head down and smiled but instead he drew so much negative attention to the team that disrupted the locker room.

That's Raycroft/Rask trade made me want to shoot myself the second I saw it at the draft way back then. Rask is going to be one heck of a goalie for a very long time for you guys.

Yeah I completely agree. I honestly thought he was a lucky goalie. Yeah sometimes you create your own luck, but look at his stats...he was hit or miss. When he was on he played great, when he wasn't it showed. I just feel comfortable watching Tuukka and don't feel like I'm going to have a heart attack whenever there are a few people in front of the net. Plus you can't argue with his save % and gaa, yet also can't point to his wins and losses because the team gave him awful goal support.

For the first time in as long as I've been alive the Leafs have prospects worth being slightly excited about.

Problem is they're all (well not ALL) about 8/10 prospects and there's absolutely ZERO 9/10 or 10/10 guys.

In other words, it's full of a bunch of "could be's" and absolutely no "going to be's".

Colbourne apparently had a pretty tough wrist injury for most of last season so folks are letting him off the hook for his poor play...rightfully so I guess.

Other than him, there's:
Kadri - who knows how he'll turn out
Rielly - Still needs to learn how to play in his own zone
Scrivens - Played amazing in goal for the marlies and almost single handily carried them to the finals
Frattin - will be in the NHL next year, likely to be a 3rd liner but could have a few 30 goal seasons if he hits his full potential...some fans might disagree with me on the 3rd liner part
Finn - was apparently a huge steal in the 2nd round, don't know too much about him yet though and not going to pretend I do, lol
McKegg - Has had a couple great seasons in the OHL and could to turn out to be a great pick in the 3rd round
Biggs - He's the closest thing fans have to hoping we ever get any kind of lucic on our team...probably AT BEST a Clutterbuck which would still be awesome
Blacker - offensive dman who should be in the NHL in this next two years...he'll probably be traded though as having Gardiner and Rielly (in the pipes) I don't see a huge need for Blacker other than in a trade.

My two cents...there's tons of other Leafs fans who may disagree with me which is fine, these are just my opinions. Quite a few probably NHL'ers but nothing worth bragging about.

i pretty much agree with all of this i think kadri needs to be left up with the leafs this year though unless he's moved for a center

Home for Doan is good old Alberta.

If I was the Flames i'd offer 2-3 years, 5 mil per.

It's clear the Flames aren't gonna blow it up, might at well bring him in!!!

(And then trade bouwmeester)

Yes. If he can step right into the NHL, in the most intense situation possible and thrive, then he should be able to dominate the regular season. He'll be playing less intense games, against crappier teams and with less pressure. Just pencil him in for the Calder Trophy now.
- GOODPLAYA20

Yeah, but sometimes people get amped up in those situations and play beyond their potential...it happens all the time. Just don't count your eggs before they hatch.

- nightmare3020

next yr. they have one more year to win the cup with this roster then penner will have to go forsure. and if they signed doan it would be on a 1 yr deal.

I get what you're saying, but I've been watching this guy play at Boston College and in the World Juniors for 3 years. I haven't been this excited about a Rangers prospect... ever. If anyone can step into the regular season next year and play well, it's him.

Who cares if Penner has to go? He is overrated anyway. Take Penner off of that roster and they still easily have a chance to win the cup. you officially have no merit here anymore in my opinion. Go tanning or something

Yeah I go to Providence College, so I've seen alot of him. I think he's good, just saying he is going to have growing pains like every other prospect. I like him alot.

Toffoli

Cant wait to see this kid play for the Kings.....I say this almost every day until camp, until he is sent back down and then all over again. Hoping he cracks the lineup this time around, but its doubtful.

He'll have his growing pains, no doubt. He had those in the playoffs when Torts decided to half his ice time during the Washington series after ONE giveaway led to a goal. The dude's carrying the team offensively and Torts decides the playoffs is the best time to teach him that you need to play defense. I like Torts, but sometimes he kills me.

i was surprised they resigned penner but i was just saying they have their entire cup roster back from last season to win it all again but then quicks salary takes over the money they gave penner so he will be gone.

His argument is this team can't win a cup without Penner. If you really think that you know nothing about hockey and deserve to be shannabaned. He is decent, but in no way a deciding factor for a cup victory when you have a team with Quick, Doughty, Brown, Kopitar etc

there is no question it will be Phoenix! do research on what he has said. His home is there AND he wants to be there....A hometown discount will be given. Even if it is 1 yr he will be there. Only reason he has considered is because of that sale/lease which everything has been okayed by all legitimate parties and I don't even think it will reach the ballot.

The NHL owns the team and nothing has been discussed about movement because the NHL WANTS a team in Phoenix and if they have a taker it's done!

IF you are referring to Penner, no he is not a deciding factor IMO (and probably many)

I didnt want Penner back, really glad its for 1 year. I say Penner is traded at the deadline.

Like I said, I want to see Toffoli. I was hoping if Penner didnt come back it would be more of a greater chance this kid makes the team. Guess I have to wait another year now because of Penner

I'm agreeing with you, just trying to point out how ridiculous Boltsfan's post was. Penner needs to peace and the team will be even better.

in no way did i say penner was needed to win a cup. i said he will be one of the guys leaving after next yr. im saying they have their entire cup winning team back this year and penner was on that team.... he did score the goal that put them into the finals tho so its not like he was completely invisible. he showed up for the playoffs.

Yep agreed, I think Ricahrdson should be traded. He is a C/RW/LW
I think Ricahrdson can get a draft pick or 2
