Oh, Vancouver?
Edit: Uh didn't see the edit..tough times then.
how does your prospect pool look besides Colbourne? You guys drafter Morgan Rielly right? - celata29
For the first time in as long as I've been alive the Leafs have prospects worth being slightly excited about.
Problem is they're all (well not ALL) about 8/10 prospects and there's absolutely ZERO 9/10 or 10/10 guys.
In other words, it's full of a bunch of "could be's" and absolutely no "going to be's".
Colbourne apparently had a pretty tough wrist injury for most of last season so folks are letting him off the hook for his poor play...rightfully so I guess.
Other than him, there's:
Kadri - who knows how he'll turn out
Rielly - Still needs to learn how to play in his own zone
Scrivens - Played amazing in goal for the marlies and almost single handily carried them to the finals
Frattin - will be in the NHL next year, likely to be a 3rd liner but could have a few 30 goal seasons if he hits his full potential...some fans might disagree with me on the 3rd liner part
Finn - was apparently a huge steal in the 2nd round, don't know too much about him yet though and not going to pretend I do, lol
McKegg - Has had a couple great seasons in the OHL and could to turn out to be a great pick in the 3rd round
Biggs - He's the closest thing fans have to hoping we ever get any kind of lucic on our team...probably AT BEST a Clutterbuck which would still be awesome
Blacker - offensive dman who should be in the NHL in this next two years...he'll probably be traded though as having Gardiner and Rielly (in the pipes) I don't see a huge need for Blacker other than in a trade.
My two cents...there's tons of other Leafs fans who may disagree with me which is fine, these are just my opinions. Quite a few probably NHL'ers but nothing worth bragging about. |

I honestly just don't like him.
His attitude, his cockiness, his chewing the mouth guard, just the overall smirk on his face drives me nuts. - Juice
Did you like Versteeg when he was with the leafs? |

I'd put Doan up on the 2nd line instead of Gagne....either way that is an insane lineup. |

Thanks, I didn't know many of those prospects. I gaurantee you Chiarelli tries to trade for Blacker, if he is a puckmoving Dman like you say |

Blacker for Rask? - Juice
Not going to happen.
I've been waiting for Rask to step in for years...wasn't a big Thomas fan. Obviously I wanted him to play well, but I can't stand him. Something many poeple wouldn't realize (pre-he lost his mind era) is when you watch him night in and night out, he can really get on your nerves. In reality he put up one really good year and one excellent year and it took him until he was 37 and everyone acts like he is a hall of famer. He has one good year and plays average or below average the next. |

Totally know what you mean with Thomas...in the many, many times I've watched him play he irritates me.
I'm fully believe that when goalies come out of their crease, especially as far out as he comes, that they should be fair game and not able to freeze the puck if no part of their body is in the crease....frigging Thomas may as well freeze the puck at centre ice with how far he comes out.
That whole not going to the white house thing was his prerogative...I get that but he put his beliefs ahead of his team which ain't cool. He should've just went, put his head down and smiled but instead he drew so much negative attention to the team that disrupted the locker room.
That Raycroft/Rask trade made me want to shoot myself the second I saw it at the draft way back then. Rask is going to be one heck of a goalie for a very long time for you guys. |

Yes. If he can step right into the NHL, in the most intense situation possible and thrive, then he should be able to dominate the regular season. He'll be playing less intense games, against crappier teams and with less pressure. Just pencil him in for the Calder Trophy now. |
